Hi Quibitos, "gallery style" representation is put at the bottom of the article to lend more credibility to the article and in cases where we have additional images. The immediate pictures would represent the context of the apt para. Thanks. --Karan1974 (talk) 21:49, 7 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Arguments of Quibitos edit

Dear Quibitos,

First, let me make it clear that I am not very good at grammar as you are but as Wikipedia is about facts rather than about grammar, the first need is to be factually correct than to be grammatically correct.

Second, I have other business to mind rather than sitting in Wikipedia and waiting for your response

Your argument

Brahmins success is fully based on merits and they are the most fair and open minded people

HOW?? You see the caste system always given more prominence to you than others and your community was so rigid and obsessed with the system that you did not allow other communities to enjoy any opportunities. Can you say that that all the evidence about caste system was wrong ?? Are you just saying that the author's of numerous books who wrote about dark side of caste system are wrong ?? I doubt it!

Genes of merit

You claim that you have different Genes than other. Another sensational baseless claim. Mostly all indian communities contain southern and northern genes I.e north indian or south indian with exception of North east india which have tibeto burman genes. It has been researched again and again and the results were the same i.e the imaginary lower caste have same genes as the imaginary upper caste. Caste originatedabout 2000 years ago and at that era caste was not hereditory rather it was the occupation of different people. It was during the Gupta reign when intercaste marriage was stopped while some other sources claim it be in the with the 10th century.

So, why are the lower caste people falling??

It is more of a psycological factor than genetical factor. A group which is made to feel superior and the next group which is made to feel inferior, the latter group will undoubtedly scumble under the pressure. It is a scientific fact

So if the genes are same, why not remove the quota system right??

You see the quota did not came up because the lower caste wanted it but because the upper caste people specially you who humiliated others on the basis of some superstitious caste system. Hundreds of people have been killed and dehumanized , just because they happen to born under some poor caste. If your people are so fair minded why didn't they stop this, why didnt they raise their voice. Now as the quota system is not benefiting the upper caste, you are in a mood of strike against it. Have you ever thought about the ancestors of lower caste who were tortured and murder while you enjoyed the fruits without doing any karma.

Isn't caste system based on the Hindu god of Brahma where Brahmins were on the top, kstriyas near the neck shudra in chest vaishya in legs and dalit on foot. Let me ask you something?? Do you really believe this myth , do you seriously after being educated beleive this thing??

Brahmins are pure Aryan!!

India's obsession with the word Aryan shows how narrow you all are, But still I would like to explain.

Aryan race coined by some white and made famous by Adolf Hilter is nothing but a pseudoscience through which he murdered millions of Jews. Later scientist found no relation of Aryan superiority and at present the word Aryan is only related to the language of the India subcontinent. To understand this, you might watch the Film named "The Book Thief". Your group nor any other indian group belong To The Aryan race..It is undoubtedly that indians would have been send to gas chambers if the Nazis found a hold over the subcontinent INCLUDIND YOU! And again let me tell you The EAST ASIANS are smarter, it might shock you but it's a fact

The other Aryan term is as I said is the "differnt language of india" including Pakistan and bangladesh

Bhupen Hazarika a kalita

Bhutan Hazarika belonged to SC category. Read his bio. Stop showing your ignorance.

Brahmins are so successfull

Ofcourse, after getting thousands of years of advantage over others (numerically 1500 years) there will be successful Brahmins but this success is mainly due to the caste system and your imaginary God BRAHMA. Humiliation, torture, dehumanization, forced slavery ...

Again if you are so concerned about grammars you should start writing story books and stop editing editing Wikipedia. You might think Wikipedia is a story writing session but let me inform you that it about world knowledge. Theory without facts don't work here

Some of my facts are supported in these websites and books

And lastly lets make a good future and not drag on the past and if you still think of writing fantasies I recommend you to leave it immediately

Reply to Quibitos edit

Thanks for pointing out everything that is lacking in you.Time again and again pointing me as having inferiority complex just points the opposite but lets see who is really clueless about things.

1. First when i wrote some people of Sutiya group writes Baruah as their surname, you scrapped it out just because you didnt have enough knowledge that other groups rather than your community may write it as their surname.

2.You removed it again by the logic that Sutiya community is a ST group(which we are not. we are OBC). But lets thinks for a moment, according to your logic when a community writes baruah as their surname and belong to an ST group, they dont have the right to put their community name in the wikipedia page of Boruah just because they ST.

3.Quota system Well this is the system which you are using over and over again to describe how we have been looting your benefits. are we really ?? Well the OBC quota although introduced in 1947, had only little reservations in it until the early 2000s when it was increased to 27% and that reservations was only in education sector not in service sectors. The reservations in service sectors was only introduced in 1980s BUT not implemented until 1993!! and now we have creamie layer which if we have over 5 lakhs income cant enjoy reservations which is good thing because i dont really want anyone life to get ruined just because he belongs to general category. but pointing fingers at the OBCs wont do any help because over 60% of obc students get jobs and seats on their own merit which also include ME

4.Our kings were responsible. do you really expect that in medieval era there would prime ministers and presidents to give equal rights to people ...in medieval era people fighted for what they wanted just as the british did ,chinese did but again THE Sutiya kingdom and Ahom kingdom had lots of communities under them, had we been so bad , wont we have killed all of them?? but did we do so.. NO ..we just expanded our kingdoms so that those living under our kingdom have benefits to live a good life..

5.Dont question my faith ..why shouldnt your faith be questioned.?? after all the caste system was born from hinduism ..so there is every need to question it. Even though in Bhagabhat gita it is written that caste is a occupation of a group and is not linked with the birth of individual under a certain community but this concept of caste has not been followed since Gutpa era .Since 1500 years caste system has been rigid and has not allowed anyone to move up their caste just because they were born under a certain community even they did good occupation. It is also important because when you organise a puja , the priest always ask your caste and varna , and it is fixed for life even if you belong to upper CLASS family and you moved there through your hard work not by any quota system. And if the priest knows that caste is based on occupation, why dont they promote someone of lower caste who have climbed the social ladder on his own merit and reached a top postion?? and why is someone not given "Lagun" and made brahmin from a lower group who is of high intellectual eg-BR ambedkar.and why is that even the dullest of people born in brahmin community given "Lagun" and made future brahmins?? where is the logic in it??

6.Sutiyas Hiteswar saikia(former CM of assam).Nomal chandra bora(Gnrc hospital founder).Uddhab bharali(118 patent inventor)Sonaram Sutiya (Freedom fighter) but i promise when we debate the next time i will name over 50 people belonging to sutiya community contributing to the assamese society so that you just dont went on blabbering that you are the only sole developers of assam. 7.Facts...you are just bad at it. and even provided you just like to ignore it. Bhupen hazarika was made klaita by you and when i corrected you , you felt intimidated and went on to a full on insult mode on me. Facts are important , you know why because if a pilot of aircraft ask the address of guwahati and you were not concerned about facts and told him that guwahati is in the middle of the pacific ocean , the pilot would land the plane on water and people would die..this is one reason why facts are important and trust me there are zillion other reasons why facts are important

8.Aryan race: One advice , go read a book on evolution and race of 2017 and not of 1945

9.Grammers..you mean to say that if my grammer is wrong, my facts should also be wrong? what kind of logic is this?? 10.sutiya community(OBC) discriminating against dalits..Did you know that we reached assam just 1300-1100 years ago.. and we were not the OBC who discriminate the backward class...but still on behalf of all OBCs i am extremely sorry..hope it satisfies you

atleast be thankful to the asian communities who ruled assam (i)they reduced the caste influence on people (ii)they removed sati in northeast and ill behaviour of woman during the medieval period (iii) they held out the invaders (iv) they helped in creating an honest society well most of these things , you wont find in the epicentre of indian culture also known as Uttar pradesh ,bihar...what you will find there is dirt , gender inequalities, murder, rape, rigid cultural norms, pollution, poverty, backwardness., the Assamese community not the people of assam ..the assamese community which consist of 48% of the population of assam dont have these problem.Reason :there were ruled by east and south east asian rulers which changed their social struture. and please stop using the word inferiorty complex as your defense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Penguinnumbers (talkcontribs) 16:31, 17 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Caste category additions edit

Hi there, re: this, please don't add caste categories unless there is properly sourced content supporting the category addition. Per WP:CAT, there has to be an obvious reason why a category was added, and in this case, there was no obvious reason, since Brahmin is mentioned nowhere in the article. Typically we require a source where the subject self-identifies as a member of a particular caste. You've made similar edits to about 27 articles, and now I'll have to go through to double-check your work. Content first, then categories. Note that matters related to caste are a significant issue that have been a persistent irritant to the Wikipedia community, and you are exposing yourself to swift sanctions should you continue with the haphazard category additions. Please read the notice directly above mine that was left by Sitush. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:14, 9 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Quibitos, thank you for your responses on my talk page. Can we please keep the discussion here on yours so that it's easier to track responses? With regard to your comments, I appreciate that there may be very clear cultural indicators that say X name = Brahmin, and you may have been raised with clear instruction that so-and-so were of X caste, and I also acknowledge that you could be 100% correct about each of your additions. This, however, is not a matter of being right vs. being wrong. Wikipedia has very stringent expectations about controversial content, especially about living people, which we require to be impeccably sourced, and we always avoid "original research", a term we use to describe personal knowledge or personal analysis. As I noted earlier, content should always be established before adding categories. Thanks, and it's nothing personal, I assure you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:33, 9 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi again Quibitos, SpacemanSpiff was kind enough to point me the direction of some of the conversations that led to these rules, when you have time to skim, please see Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics/Archive 49#Mentioning caste of Individuals and Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics/Archive 49#List of members of X caste. You'll no doubt see objections that are parallel to the ones I raised. Most of the discussion seems to be focused on living people. I'm not entirely sure how caste should be treated for the dead, but again per WP:CAT, there must be some obvious reason why a category was added, so I think that sourced prose would have to be established first. One's personal knowledge of Indian surnames and their relationship to castes is not sufficient as justification to add the categories. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:35, 9 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

October 2017 edit

The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or a topic ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.
