Phil of the Future

Done. I've tried to talk to TSLCrazier about doing the right fair use rational, but they wont't respond. I don't know if it's a little kid, or what. Lately I've just been following them around and fixing what they mess up. It's too bad, because they work on pages I like and upload good looking images. Oh well. - Peregrine Fisher 08:10, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Two Heads are Better than None

Re Two Heads are Better than None -- this article has had many contributors, so use of the db-author tag is not appropriate. NawlinWiki 19:37, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I redirected the article you tried to delete to the "good" article title. Thanks, NawlinWiki 19:51, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Image:Paget_Brew.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Paget_Brew.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add Replaceable fair use disputed, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
 2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 01:43, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Hilary Duff

 1. There's nothing wrong with red links. Please don't remove them unless you think the linked topics won't get articles on them (which you should mention in your edit summary).
 2. The fair use rationale on Image:Hilary Duff second album.jpg reads "For an article about an album, the cover artwork is arguably one of the most important images that could be included" (emphasis mine). That rationale (which I wrote) applies to the album article, not the main article on Duff. You have to create a new rationale below that one explaining why the image is "fair use" in the Duff article. Extraordinary Machine 18:01, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Unhappy Medium

Please don't remove templates unless the required changes have been made. Also:

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 15:38, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:227 S1.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:227 S1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:NightCourt-TVFav.jpg

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:NightCourt-TVFav.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as fair use or article name, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sandstein 10:04, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Markus Flanagan

An editor has nominated Markus Flanagan, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Markus Flanagan and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Barnstar

Thanx for the barnstar :) --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 18:12, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Hey!

I voted for Persian's RFA...full support of course! I'm kind of worried that she'll burn out, but I hope not.
Anyways, KP is starting soon!!! The first episode is already on the Disney Channel website...so you can catch it there. The first four episode will air on Saturday Feb. 10 (that's tommorrow, or today) in a two hour marathon. I hope you can catch them. I can't, since I lack cable and watching YouTube with Linux isn't all that easy. Tell me if you like the premier. =) Jumping cheese Cont@ct 06:04, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

The truth comes out!!! jkjkjk =D
The real reason why I started editing Wikipedia was to improve the KP pages. But, tell me what happens. =) Jumping cheese Cont@ct 06:12, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
I also voted for her RfA! thanx for letting me know she was running :) --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 15:08, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
So...did you watch KP? The new episodes are not on YouTube yet and there aren't any torrent for them, so I'm out of luck. =( Jumping cheese Cont@ct 06:53, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
No need for YouTube, the torrents went online about three hours ago. =D Jumping cheese Cont@ct 10:01, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Torrents are files that allow computers to share files between them...so if one person has an episode of KP, he or she can share it to everyone. You know, the stuff the MPAA is trying to shut down. =) Jumping cheese Cont@ct 20:39, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:Aaliyah_7.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Aaliyah_7.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Dignity (album)

I've restored the Manny Marroquin redlink you removed without explanation (much less an edit summary) from Dignity (album); again, please stop removing redlinks from articles. That there is not currently an article on a topic does not mean there is never going to be one. For example, you removed the Tim and Bob then-redlink on the Hilary Duff article a while ago, but not only is the link now blue, an article on that topic already existed at Tim & Bob. Please save future editors the time they will have to spend reinserting links that shouldn't have been removed.

I also suggest that you respond to messages other editors, such as myself, leave on your talk page. Persistently ignoring other users is frowned on and can be considered disruptive. Extraordinary Machine 17:41, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Image:Aaliyah 7.jpg

Are saying because its from a "blog", it's not really valid. Or do you want a freely licensed image, because well the person is deceased. And also would uploading an image from an official website be okay to use for the article. QuasyBoy 15:00, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

By "source" we mean the image's author and/or copyright holder, and not a random website where you happened to find the image. Such website are copyright violators and we don't follow them. I understand it's now more difficult to produce a free image for this person, since she's dead, but this is no excuse to ignore copyrights. Dignity (album) (again)

It's grammatically correct to say "in February 2007", not "on February 2007". The word "on" should only precede dates that include the day of the month, e.g. "on February 22 2007". Extraordinary Machine 21:16, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for replying. Also, just another note: inserting commas into wikilinked dates doesn't affect how they appear on a page. For example:
February 25 2007 -> February 25 2007
February 25, 2007 -> February 25, 2007
Hope that helps. Thanks again, and if have any questions or need help with something, feel free to ask. Extraordinary Machine 19:40, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Full House intro.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Full House intro.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self-no-disclaimers tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:11, 5 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 18:11, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Full House image.

I uploaded the same-looking image that you tagged, but from a different website this time. It has a different name of course, check it out → Image:FullHousecast.jpg. I linked the source directly to the image white page. I hope everything is okay now. QuasyBoy 23:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

As far as I could understand, the source site, briangreens.com, is a weight loss blog, and I don't think it works as a source for distribution of Warner Bros. Television's promotional material.
We need to make sure this image was released for promotional purposes in order to use it. Some images like that, for instance, are simply intended to be used in Warner Bros controlled websites, and their used in other places of the web may be considered a copyright violation. I'm tagging the source as invalid. --Abu badali (talk) 14:30, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Would getting an image from an official website be okay. But the thing is Full House is a cancelled TV series, and I don't think there is an "official website" out there on the series. And I don't think you would want an image from a fansite. QuasyBoy 12:07, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
The point is that even images found on "official website" are not necessarily "promotional". Fansites are a no-no. If you really need an image for that article, wouldn't a carefully selected screenshot do the job? --Abu badali (talk) 17:49, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
A promotional image released from the Warner Bros. Televison company from an "official website" (If one would exist). Would be okay right ? QuasyBoy 12:59, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
If it's really promotional, yes. But as I told above, not all images on Warner Bros's website are automatically promotional. Images on http://cwtv.com, for instance, are not. I suggest you read the site's "Terms of Use" (or equivalent) section to know about what can and can't be done with the site's material. --Abu badali (talk) 18:06, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Your image dispute

Hi. I'm TechnoFaye and I'm writing this because you had perfectly good images you uploaded marked for deletion by Abu Bidali. You should know that he does this because he thinks it's funny; he even says so on his user page. More then 20 other editors just like us are parties to several formal complaints to Wikipedia in an effort to have him banned permanently for doing just what he did to you. Others have described him on the record as a "hoodlum" and a "vandal". My testimony was that "Bidali would be just as happy breaking antennas off cars at night". After he is gone, we can repair the damage he has done to WP. If you haven't already, please consider adding your name to the lists at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Abu_badali#Users_Who_Endorse_This_Summary http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Abu_badali#Users_who_endorse_this_summary:_2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Abu_badali#Users_who_endorse_this_summary:_4 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Abu_badali#Other_users_who_endorse_this_summary http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Abu_badali#Users_who_endorse_this_summary

Image:02pic.jpg

You said: "What exactly does URL mean? And If I put the FU rationale for this image would it be okay to stay."

The URL in question is http://oh-hilary.com/. Chances are, this image appears in some sub-page. Anyway, with a detailed fair-use rationale, this image could stay provided it adheres to WP:FU. At the moment, though, the image does not seem to be used to provide critical commentary on the film so it is in violation of the image's license. In other words, it is just being used to illustrate the article which is not permitted. --Yamla 17:52, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Re:FYI

I keep removing it because it doesnt have a stable name yet. The name for it seems to change by the week. When it gets a stable name i have no problem with adding it to the list and when it begins airing we can add it to the template, since the template is for current/past aired showes not upcoming things. And there is also the possibility of it being scrapped. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 12:31, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

editprotected on your monobook.js

Why have you placed editprotected on User:QuasyBoy/monobook.js? You can edit that page yourself, and the existence of a template on the page will stop it working. The template's designed for requesting edits to pages you can't edit. What were you trying to do? --ais523 17:52, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Your monobook.js page holds scripts that customize the way that your user account behaves. See Wikipedia:WikiProject user scripts (or its script repository) for more information about how your account can be customized. The page needs to be in a precise format, so things like editprotected pages will disrupt it; also, you need to bypass your cache after editing it for the changes to take effect. Hope that helps! --ais523 17:58, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

And The weenie is...

TV.Com is pretty much where I draw my line, and they keep messing around with the episodes. Can you think of any other way to explain why a commercial isn't okay to cite, and why waiting a little while for the media to sort it out is a good idea? WeeklyJumpman's being bold, but at this point, prudence is called for I'd say. -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 17:53, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

No no! I'm agreeing with you here :) I don't think we should be adding in the Juicer information since if TV.COM (and tvguide.com) keep changing it, it's too in-flux to figure out. This one's a wait and see. :) -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 14:28, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the Maia Brewton help

Thanks for helping out with the Maia Brewton addition. It was my first attempt. I agree that extra stuff was unnecessary, but I had just watched that Wonder Years episode and that prompted me to write the wiki page. I have some more info to add regarding what she's been doing recently in the LA theater scene, but I'll get to it later. I think it's funny that you were planning on adding an entry for her already...

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:ModBehav.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Image:ChristaB.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:ChristaB.jpg.

Thank you. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 02:19, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Infobox colors

Lately there have been a couple of IPs changing the colors of the biographical infoboxes. I think we should keep the colors uniform, so what do you say about this? I'd like to get an opinion, because these color changes are driving me nuts. bibliomaniac15 Join or die! 22:44, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

So should we just remove the color parameter? bibliomaniac15 Join or die! 01:28, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
