Angus1986, you are invited to the Teahouse!

Hi Angus1986! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia.
Be our guest at the Teahouse! The Teahouse is a friendly space where new editors can ask questions about contributing to Wikipedia and get help from experienced editors like MrClog (talk).

We hope to see you there!

A friendly reminder in case you didn't know...

When reverting vandalism, make sure you add a message to the vandal on their talk page, so that if that user needs to be blocked, an admin can see that the user has been sufficiently warned and needs a good block.

If you can't think of anything to say, something here may help you instead. Simply copy and paste the code into the user talk page.

Enjoy!!!! Mgasparin (talk) 08:16, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

(Also, if you can't get a vandal to stop, consider reporting it at Administrator intervention against vandalism (AIV). However, you should only do this after the 3rd or 4th template, and only if all the vandalism occurs within a 36hr period. Slow, long-term vandals rarely get blocks, sadly. Mgasparin (talk) 08:18, 4 September 2019 (UTC))

Alright! Thank you very much. I've noted everything, if I need any help I will contact you or write to the teahouse. Angus1986 (talk) 08:21, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
Also, given your interests in reverting vandalism, I strongly recommend requesting for some advanced permissions at WP:PERM, once you are extended-confirmed (having 500 edits to articles and 30 days of being active at Wikipedia). Given your interest in vandalism, I would request Rollback and Pending Changes Reviewer (PCR). You can check your stats at X-tools, the link for that is here. (If you ever think that I'm stalking you, please understand that I am not, I'm just trying to help new users become better.) Once again, Enjoy!! Mgasparin (talk) 03:21, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Thank you so much! I don't feel that you are stalking me but rather helping me, and the other new users on Wikipedia to get better. Very much appreciated and I will request for advanced permissions once I hit the minimum requirement for requesting. Enjoy your weekend. Please do let me know if I need to know anything. A barnstar for you!

September 2019

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. I suggest using the Twinkle tool. it automates the Revert-warn-ban process. Jeb3Talk at me here 13:12, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

Twinkle can be downloaded at WP:TW, and provides many helpful tools in fighting vandalism. I don't use it right now, but I know it to be quite useful in fighting vandalism, which you seem to be very good at. Mgasparin (talk) 07:32, 13 September 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of empty fields in the Infobox for Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification

Hello. Thank you for for reviewing my recent edit Special:Diff/915716638 for Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification. If you look at my edit, I just removed empty fields that would probably never be filed, such as | native_name = and | sec_gen = . I also convert dates to also use the {{start date and age}} and {{end date and age}} templates. If possible, can you list which Wikipedia rules that I might have accidentally violated which had prompted your decision to revert so I can avoid those problems in the future? Thanks. -- 147.202.209.1 (talk) 23:08, 14 September 2019 (UTC)

Hi! Thank you for getting back to me, the fields are left open for a reason and the program was founded recently almost 2 years ago, so better to leave the template of the info-box as it is. Rest, your edits are fine. Angus1986 (talk) 23:15, 14 September 2019 (UTC)

Daily Dose of Internet moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Daily Dose of Internet, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 02:17, 9 November 2019 (UTC)

Nomination of Davide Biale for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Davide Biale is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Davide Biale until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:02, 9 November 2019 (UTC)

You should provide a link to Davie504’s YouTube account and cite the link on the article. That would help. Surely, there needs to be a Wikipedia page about him if he’s that popular on YouTube and social media. Same goes for SteveTerreberry, Rob Scallon, and Jared Dines. - User jat19951997 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jat19951997 (talkcontribs) 03:41, 13 November 2019 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Angus1986. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 19:29, 14 November 2019 (UTC)

I will do, thank you so much! Angus1986 (talk) 20:19, 14 November 2019 (UTC)

ArbCom 2019 election voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 19 November 2019 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

  The Invisible Barnstar
Thank you for your work in reverting vandalism. It is a thankless job, but one that if it were not there, would cause the destruction of Wikipedia. Mgasparin (talk) 06:22, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

JJJ

Hello, QuantumRealm. You have new messages at Talk:J._Jonah_Jameson#Spider-Verse.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

The removal of my content

I would like to ask you why my addition was judged as unconstructive. It linked to the earlier paragraph talking about the (outdated) comment about the future science block. Thanks for you’re time, Jill Jill Bier (talk) 10:51, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

It wasn't properly sourced. Wikipedia relies on strong references that are reputable and genuine. Angus1986 (talk) 11:24, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

Rollback

Please don't use rollback to revert edits that are not indisputably vandalism as you did at SpaceX Merlin. When you are granted the Wikipedia:Rollback right, it is dependant on using it properly, and any administrator may remove your ability to use rollback if they believe you have misused it. I would strongly advise you to self-revert you rollback and discuss your reasons for reversion at Talk:SpaceX Merlin. Thanks in advance. --RexxS (talk) 22:49, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

I replied to the talk, my apologies and thanks for bringing this to my attention. I understand the rights given, and I certainly would never misuse, this happened for the first time. Sorry for the inconvenience, and please reply to me at Talk:SpaceX Merlin. Angus1986 (talk) 06:03, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Oliver Filip

I have deleted your malformed AFD request - if you want to nominate please follow the simple instructions at WP:AFDHOWTO. GiantSnowman 21:09, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Angus - have you got Twinkle installed? If not, I'd strongly recommend enabling it and reading about what it will do for you. For example, it makes the job of creating an AfD into a simple one of clicking and filling in the reason in a popup form. I certainly use it regularly for the ease it provides in doing many routine tasks. See what you think. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 23:46, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
@RexxS Yes, I have it installed, and I use it to rollback and warn users for vandalism, I don't know how to use Twinkle for other purposes. Could you guide? Angus1986 (talk) 04:26, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
Sure, Angus. Go to the Oliver Filip page and look at the tabs across the top: article, talk, ... csd, prod, xfd ... etc. Click on the xfd tab and you'll get a popup. Pick the category you think is most appropriate (probably biography or sports), add deletion sorting categories (e.g. People - sportspeople), and then fill in the Reason field (e.g. fails WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTY, or whatever.). You then click on the Submit Query button, and Twinkle takes care of the rest. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 17:15, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
Finally did it! Thank you so much! @RexxS Angus1986 (talk) 17:02, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

NPPSCHOOL

Just a friendly reminder that you have some SNG-related questions waiting for you at your NPPSCHOOL page. signed, Rosguill talk 22:55, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

@Rosguill I need more time for SNG, but I did respond to your corrections. I will study more this week. Thank you so much for taking time to remind me and helping us out! <3 Angus1986 (talk) 08:07, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
