Speedy deletion nomination of Destiny Potato edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Destiny Potato requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Taroaldo 03:36, 15 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

How to create a page?! edit

As you can see on my talk page, my recent attempt to create a page about the Band Destiny Potato was recently flagged to speed deletion. They are currently only a relatively small band, so there is not much information regarding them, but I do not see a reason that the page should have been deleted. I would like to know how I can improve creating page, so that I can maybe later Attempt to create that page again or, for future reference, how I can create pages without being flagged for deletion. Thanks -Quaker763

Hello,
I hope you are aware that there are some notability requirements that need to be fulfilled before the band can be allowed a page here.
To answer your question, you can always create the page in your sandbox and keep improving it until you think it's ready to become an article by itself. That way, it won't be flagged for deletion except under some very strict circumstances.
Also, it is generally suggested that you get the article reviewed before it becomes an article, so it has lesser chances of being deleted. You can do that by adding a {{subst:submit}} at the top of the article.
I hope this helps. Feel free to contact me again through my talk page, or join a chat discussion with me or other helpes here- #wikipedia-en-help connect
