editThe current Sherlock Holmes: The Musical article is classified as a stub. Currently, this is what exists in the article:

This can be vastly expanded on. Sherlock Holmes is a popular topic, a character that has stood the test of time and who has seen a surge in popularity among young people due to the two Sherlock Holmes movies starring Robert Downey Jr. and the new BBC television show, Sherlock. Although the musical did not receive great critical acclaim or run for very long, it is an important piece of the Sherlock Holmes universe that fans should be able to easily find out about.
Many theatre fans use Wikipedia as a reference when choosing shows to see, audition for, or even produce, whether it be professionally or at a school/community level. It is important for Wikipedia to keep accurate accounts of shows such as Sherlock Holmes: The Musical, complete with production history as well as song lists/plot summaries, so that those interested can find the information they need on Wikipedia.

editWe will update the existing sidebar to include elements such as Producer, Composer, Director, Set Designer, Costume Designer, length of run, theatre location/address, etc. Additionally, we will include relevant photos such as the show's poster advertisement, pictures of cast members/rehearsals, and pictures of the live staged production. Our article will also provide links to other Wikipedia pages. For instance, names of notable actors/actresses will have links to their respective Wikipedia pages.

Old Vic Revival
editStarting on March 6, 1993, a revival of Sherlock Holmes: The Musical ran in The Old Vic Theatre in London, England. The revival featured a completely new cast as well as three new musical numbers. Besides those minor changes, the revival run remained fairly similar to the original production and Sir Author Conan Doyle's characters. Critical Response
editCritical response to the show's original production was largely negative. Donald Cooper, a reviewer from the London Times, describes writer Leslie Bricusse as, "a man with a stream of melodies behind him but currently swirled, on the evidence of this show, into a melodic backwater."

editThis is a great topic to expand and you have some good ideas of where to take this article and how to improve it.
It is important that you separate between what goes on the article page itself - the infobox, for example, and what goes on the talk page - all discussions, explanations and descriptions of what should be the contents of the article itself.
Also, you need to be careful about using formatting and styles. Currently you have a giant section heading that jumbles up the table of contents at the top of the page.

Sherlock Holmes The Musical is not the only of its kind to have adapted the story of Sherlock Holmes into a musical style production. In March 2002, lyricist Brett Nicholson and composer Hans Vollrath hosted NYC readings of their production: Holmes! The Musical. The two met through their jobs in Walt Disney World in 1995 and began collaborating on Holmes! The Musical five years prior to the mentioned NY readings. The show had workshop presentations in Florida prior to coming to NYC, and a website was launched on its behalf in 1998: www.holmesthemusical.com. The show was based heavily off of Arthur Conan Doyle's character, with music that Vollrath described as a cross between Sweeney Todd and Les Miserables.

Baker Street the Musical opened on February 16, 1965 and was based off of the Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The book was written by Jerome Coopersmith with music and lyrics by Marian Grudeff and Raymond Jessel. It opened at the Broadway Theatre on Broadway and 53rd street and stared Fritz Weaver as Sherlock Holmes, Peter Sallis as Dr. Watson, Martin Gabel as Professor Moriarty and Inga Sweson as Irene Adler. NYT reviewer Howard Taubman commented that the production took liberties from the original stories that avid fans of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s writing may not appreciate. editYour project looks great so far. I really like your topic, and that is neat that there is a Sherlock Holmes WikiProject. It seems as though you also have a good idea of the comprehensive content that you will include. As a suggestion, I think that you should elaborate more on the Critical Response that this musical originally received. It might be helpful to include not only the critical response, but also the positive elements that were noted as well. Further, I think that it could also be beneficial to include some possible artists names under the song list. That way if the reader wanted to look up the songs, they could more easily find the correct songs. Lastly, there are probably other WikiProjects out there that you could link to. editInteresting choice for a subject! I see you guys haven't posted on theWikiProject Theater, I would heartily recommend trying also trying to enlist their aid as it seems the Sherlock Holmes wiki project people seem to be a bit less responsive. Also it seems that the image that you guys are using might be against Wikipedia's policies, please try to make sure the images you find are through Wikimedia commons. If one of you own's the image that is on this page just upload it through Wikimedia Commons and you should not have any further problems with it. I tried to find some pictures for you guys to use but unfortunately I failed to find anything directly related to the music, here is a database of using Sherlock Holmes pictures though Sherlock Holmes Wikimedia Commons Album. I hope that helps!
