warning edit

When you copy from an old game article to a new one, you need to do a bit more in the edit summary. fortunately, you can fix it now. You need to have it say "Copied text from article name" with an actual name and preferably a link. This links it back, and copyright is maintained. Otherwise, it is a copyright problem. @Dennis Brown: Whoops. Thanks for letting me know. I'll see what I can do. QqqQ1- (talk) 18:44, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Not a problem. When caught early, you can just make a null edit or small edit and mention it then. Since it is so close to the original edit, no harm, no foul. Dennis Brown - 18:45, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Dennis Brown: Just did it. By the way, I think I should just delete the text from the original aricle Universe Sandbox. Universe Sandbox 2 is a whole different product. Let me know if there are any other issues with this new article. Thanks QqqQ1- (talk) 18:49, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
I actually have the Universe Sandbox 1 game. Got bored with it quickly, however. I will let you know that if you have questions about anything, the WP:Teahouse is a great place to go. It is all volunteer, experienced guys that can answer just about anything or get you pointed in the right direction. One of the best groups we have here. @Dennis Brown: Oh, that seems like an interesting place. Well, I intend to modify the original Universe Sandbox article. I wanna create (edit:Try to create, actually) that Main article template thing QqqQ1- (talk) 19:12, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

September 2015 edit

At the risk of being called a snitch... (continuation) edit

You indef blocked Tetra Quark about six months ago, and he is openly editing via IP, and discussing article changes on his talk page. I am fairly certain this is not a permitted use of his talk page, and the fact that he is discussing article changes on his talk page while blocked is also a violation. I figured I would reach out to the Admin who blocked him in the first place. Thank you for your time and attention ScrpIronIV 15:19, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

I came here to ask you to look at your restoration of tpa too. --NeilN talk to me 17:45, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, both of you. I only restored TPA in case he wanted to make an unblock request. That was in May. This is September. I guess he missed his chance to appeal. --John (talk) 19:58, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

@ScrapIronIV: What is tpa? Talk page access? Anyway, @John:: I requested to be unbanned several times after I was banned and you never replied to me. I am helping develop Universe Sandbox ² and I felt like this game needed its own article. I don't think it is fair to delete someone's legit and useful work just because I had been banned in the past. Why are bans permanent? It is like a life sentence in jail in real life. I asked to be unbanned because I legitimately had things I wanted to change in articles, and you didn't have the patience to talk to me. I created an alt account cause i had no choice, pretty much. For god's sake please help me (continuation) edit

I'm the guy who made the Universe Sandbox 2 article, remember? The thing is that I had been banned in the past, and I just returned now (a few months later) to wikipedia on another computer so I could start that article. The article is about a software I helped develop. Now some annoying user just keeps deleting my article. Is it a huge problem to just leave the article there even though I'm a "sock" (as you like to call it)? There is nothing wrong with the article and it is pretty useful. I will ping @NeilN: and @Ritchie333: as you requested, just in case you are busy. QqqQ1- (talk) 21:51, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Somehow, I had a sneaking suspicion. First problem first: if you've been banned before, you can't just come back under another name. That is block evasion. Technically, you should be blocked right now, but I get the feeling you don't quite get how that works. You have to log into your first account, and then request the unban (or unblock, not sure if you are really banned) from there. You can ping me. From that point, I can look at the totality of circumstances and if possible, try to help. Regardless, there is a process and for now, you need to stop edit warring on that redirect. Stay calm, disclose everything, lets take a look at what is really going on before we get too excited. The article will still be there in the history. • It's Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Tetra quark and they know full well how blocking and unblocking works. They've had ample time to request an unblock: User_talk:John#At_the_risk_of_being_called_a_snitch... Indef blocked the sock and I would strongly oppose unblocking the master given these kind of edit summaries: [1] --NeilN talk to me 23:42, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
      • As always, patience pays off and someone smarter than me comes along and makes all right in the Wikiverse. I didn't want to jump to conclusions, although I did take an interest very early and followed him from his first edits. Looks like we're done here. Thanks for batting cleanup, NeilN. Dennis Brown - 00:36, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
        • Not smarter. Just happen to catch this at one of the noticeboards earlier today and did the requisite homework. --NeilN talk to me 00:39, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Dennis Brown:@NeilN: To sum everything up: Can you leave me banned (although I didn't want to) but at least let my article there? I mean.. I'm too tired now to think of what to say. By the way, Dennis Brown: I didn't edit war on Universe Sandbox 2. I chose to leave a message in your talk page, which only resulted in me getting banned QqqQ1- (talk) 00:56, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
