Policies

Hi. You're wasting you time lecturing me about policies - I wrote some of them. Don't jump to conclusions about me being angry - I'm simply one of those traditional old-fashioned Brits who don't mince their words. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:37, 8 July 2019 (UTC)

I'm not trying to lecture anyone about anything, especially not you considering that you're vastly more experienced than I am. I'm simply struggling to understand what the purpose of what you wrote on the Teahouse was in light of your new comment "Don't jump to conclusions about me being angry - I'm simply one of those traditional old-fashioned Brits who don't mince their words." Mince your words about what? The fact that I asked an innocent question on the page designed for asking questions? --Puzzledvegetable|💬|📧|📜 16:51, 8 July 2019 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Newest Skittles changes

Regarding Skittles (confectionery), do you have any reason to believe the changes made by 174.89.19.121 (which lack any citation) should be kept? BernardoSulzbach (talk) 23:34, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

No, but I have no reason to assume that those edits are intentional vandalism, either. Nor do those edits inherently violate a Wikipedia policy. In the absence of time, I accepted them and added the citation needed tags, knowing I can come back to it later. If you believe the edits should be reverted, by all means do so. --Puzzledvegetable|💬|📧|📜 23:40, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Puzzledvegetable. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! ~Swarm~ {sting} 04:51, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi--I'm not sure why you accepted their edit, which was exactly the same as the one I had just reverted. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 23:17, 29 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for stopping by. I'm generally not in the habit of checking page histories before accepting an edit. I check for vandalism and other violations of Wikipedia policy, and if I don't find any, I accept it. In general, the pending change review process is not intended to insure factual accuracy. If you wish to undo the edit because you believe it is inaccurate, or otherwise inappropriate, by all means do so. Accepting the edit does not mean I agree with it, it just means I don't think it is vandalism. --PuzzledvegetableIs it teatime already? 00:00, 30 July 2019 (UTC)

Celtic World Orchestra deleted page

Hello Puzzledvegetable,

Over the last several days, have worked with other (more advanced) Wiki writers to correct any and all (hopefully) issues that you have found with this page. The major changes were to add independent detailed citations and remove any material that would be considered promotional in nature. And I believe I have accomplished that end goal. Sadly, I had to remove a big swath of the Wiki page which is an Essay by June Skinner Sawyers - an expert and well-known book writer who has published many books in Celtic music, history and culture. Someday, I'd like to get a revision of that Essay back in if possible. And I have a question on that -- is it possible to write up a new section in the Wiki (like this re-written Essay), and have it reviewed before publishing it??

Finally, can you remove the Wiki deletion? Or can I somehow do that myself and re-publish?

Thank you,

Best, Stephen Paul 15:19, 9 August 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 4thWeb (talkcontribs)

Your article was not deleted, rather it was converted to a draft. This means that it is not a live article, but you may continue to edit and improve it as you would a real article. As you have already submitted the draft for review, an editor should get to it at some point. The editor will either reject it with an explanation of why, or publish it as an article. If the article is rejected, you will be able to fix it based on the editor’s comments and submit it again.
So, to answer your question, there is nothing to lose by adding info based on the essay to the draft. (The essay itself obviously can not be copied and pasted into the article). Worst case scenario, the editor will reject the draft and identify the essay as one of the reasons. With that said, I wouldn’t add it. The draft will likely be rejected due to the essay, among other things, per WP:RSUW. I strongly suggest you read that page.
Lastly, please note that if you affiliated with the band in any way, you are strongly advised not to edit the article if and when it is published. Please see WP:COI. --PuzzledvegetableIs it teatime already? 17:13, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
