Irak edit

It is a declaration from this Sunday made by the president of Romania, who says mostly "Romania won't withdraw it's troops from Irak". At the end of this summer, the ministry of Defense of Romania asked the withdrawn of the Romanian troops, however the decision was defavourable to the withdrawn. Anyway, after that there was some time when nothing new appeared, then President Basescu came with this declaration.--Danutz

Yes. The link you have provided lists the casualties in ALL theater of OEF (Philippines, etc.), not just OEF - Afghanistan, while my link clearly lists the casualties "In and Around Afghanistan". 190.10.0.111 14:37, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

In particular, we are interested in the fortification of KOKARI-SHARSHARI Ismail Khan on the Afghan-Iranian border (1986).

We are also interested in material about the fortified area of LOR COH in Farah province in southwestern Afghanistan (1981, 1984). If you are interested in any materials from Russian open sources: Books or Articles of Soviet authors about the events of the War in Afghanistan (1979-1989), we are ready to transfer them to you.

Articles for deletion nomination of 2010 in Pakistan edit

I have nominated 2010 in Pakistan, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2010 in Pakistan. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Dr. Blofeld 21:58, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of 2010 in Pakistan edit

A tag has been placed on 2010 in Pakistan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Publicus! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 943 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Collaborative news on quippd edit

Hey, I noticed that you had recently edited the War in Afghanistan article, and I hoped that you could help out on another collaborative community edited project.

I run quippd, a collaboratively edited social news site, which mixes elements of Wikis, social networking, and social news sites. You can get some more information about what we are doing at: http://quippd.com/about/intro

Basically, we want to get good coverage on news stories, collaboratively edited, like Wikipedia. We are trying to take the ideas of WikiFactCheck -- to make news less biased and speedier (unlike something like Wikinews).

I hope you check us out -- and feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Iraq part of WoT edit

I agree with you that the Iraq war is still ongoing but there is no need to remove the part of War on Terror from the campaignbox, history will remember it as part of WoT. But I don't get how can those guys claim the war is over when nobody said it's over? Obama said he is ending the war not that he has ended it. o.O Also, I saw that you were the one mostly updating the campaignbox so I hope it's alright that I added the numbers of dead Iraqi SF and insurgents based on the Wikileaks documents? That 55,000 number seemed odd to me.Diefgross (talk) 04:25, 26 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Iraq war date again edit

Majority concencus has been reached that the war is over Xavier Green made the change based on this. However V7 again reverted him and I, in an attempt to find a compromise solution, reverted to Xavier Green's edit but added that Coalition combat operations concluded but Iraqi security forces operations continue. If V7 reverts again I feel there is no other way to go about this except report him for edit warring or take this to the arbiter with the evidence of the major concencus on the issue.Diefgross (talk) 22:48, 1 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Try reporting him, or ask a user by the name of Kirill Lokshin for some help, he's very good at helping with the war-related articles. This war is over/not over discussion is pretty silly, don't really understand what to call it if it's not a war. Publicus 19:10, 2 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

He cals it police work, anybody thinking police action that was called Vietnam and Korea? XDDiefgross (talk) 22:19, 2 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Howdy, Here's the thing as I have tried to explain to Diefgross (And I am still assuming good faith on his part) Our standard here is Wikipedia:Verifiability. I have actually posted links from Wikipedia:Reliable_sources that have the state department stating that the war is over, the president and pentagon stating that combat operations have concluded, etc. While we may have a disagreement (that doesn't need to get unfriendly) there wouldn't be a anything i could do about it if you were to find something from the state department, pentagon or presidents office that supersedes that. V7-sport (talk) 22:56, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Totally agree V7Sport, which is why I've stopped our little edit war on the date. I'm honestly confused about what to call the current situation since conflict is ongoing and there's no facts to support anyone (Prez, Pentagon, SecState, Iraqis) saying the war is over while hundreds of people are still getting killed. That's why I would like to wait on the end date until enough time has gone by and it really is the end date--or this period is just a pause in the continuing war. Publicus 14:42, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Regardless of how it turns out, thanks for the healthy debate. Seriously, I appreciate your point of view. V7-sport (talk) 01:01, 5 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Epic Barnstar edit

  The Epic Barnstar
For your immense and long term work at Iraq War. More than a thousand edits over the course of five years! No one has come close to showing that much dedication to the article. The dedication you've shown is nothing short of impressive. You're the most deserving person I've ever given a barnstar to, and all I can say is well done! Swarm X 14:43, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Have you ever gotten a barnstar for that work before? I would certainly hope so, because if not, this is ridiculously overdue. I was messing around with the article statistics tool and I was blown away by your stats at that page. Over a thousand edits to one article...I don't know the last time I saw that, if ever!! As I said, no one came remotely close to that. I've seen you around I guess...maybe I just remember you because you gave me a barnstar that one time... but I really had no idea you'd contributed that much. Wow. Anyway, suffice it to say you're the most deserving person I've ever awarded a barnstar to. Okay, I mostly give out userpage awards, but the point definitely still stands. Great work Publicus. Swarm X 14:43, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey thank you very much Swarm. No, I haven't gotten any barnstars for the Iraq War page. I really appreciate this--it was a lot of work, but I hope the article is in pretty good shape. Hope all is well. Cheers. Publicus 22:45, 1 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Then, again, this is ridiculously overdue. You're more than deserving of this, at the very least. On another note, could I ask for your opinion here, if you have some time? Thanks. Regards, Swarm X 01:42, 4 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

First I've ever heard of this edit rule, so no. The image doesn't belong on this page--not sure what your hang-up is on it. It's a weapons article, specs, development, use--that's it. No need to show victims--that belongs on the Palestinian rocket attacks page. Publicus 15:56, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

War in Afghanistan (2001–present) edit

Hi! I'm fascinated by your self appointed role to decree that images that other editors have deemed add value to the article are "not needed". (OK, I agree that I don't understand the purpose of the CIA image.) But otherwise, WHY have you (singular) decreed that the article does not "need" these images, when others (plural) have decided that they add value? Do you not think it might have been a good idea to seek consensus BEFORE making such god-like decrees? I have been highly tempted to simply revert your edits with the comment: "discuss it on the talk page and get concensus first". But have decided to see what possible justification you can provide for your behaviour. Pdfpdf (talk) 14:15, 28 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your comment. I deleted those images for several reasons; they were not informative, unique, or representative of the war in general. Also, someone had put a tag on the article that it was too long and needed to be cleaned up, so this was the first steps towards that process. Publicus 20:49, 1 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Proposed deletion of Juan Covington edit

The article Juan Covington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I don't see how this biography meets WP:CRIMINAL/GNG. Few mentions in media limited to WP:ONEVENT. No valid merge/redirect target. Mention on the List of serial killers in the United States seems sufficient. Not every serial killer is notable (particularly given his 3 victims, the minimum amount require to get classified as a sk).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
