January 2011 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Pay per click do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 15:34, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Thexyz edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Thexyz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the page be "userfied" or emailed to you. MrOllie (talk) 13:00, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

February 2013 edit

Hello, I'm MrOllie. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added, because it seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you.   Hello, Ptoone. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 18:55, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.   Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. If you need guidance on how to create appropriate pages, try using the Article Wizard. bonadea contributions talk 19:52, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 day for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  SmartSE (talk) 19:57, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yes there is a block war, not sure why I am being targeted but I will keep correcting the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ptoone (talkcontribs)

(edit conflict) You were given ample warnings to stop promoting your businesses but continued to do so. Please take the time to read the guidelines and policies linked in the notices above (particularly about conflicts of interest). If you return and continue to edit as before you will be blocked for a longer period. SmartSE (talk) 20:01, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Yunshui  22:28, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is not the case, I have been victimized by unqualified wikipedia users, I will take action Ptoone (talk) 14:43, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

No grounds for unblock provided. --jpgordon::==( o ) 14:52, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I think it is unfair to ban someone permanently when I was in the middle of editing. I understand that you cannot promote companies or services but I feel I have a lot to offer the wikipedia community. I have learnt my lesson and will be more careful in future. Ptoone (talk) 15:09, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You have not answered the question below, asking what you intend to write about in the future. More important, we need to know, per Peridon below, what you mean in your last declined request about taking action. In answering, which is necessary, be aware of WP:NLT.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 19:07, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Question edit

Can you please let us know what you would like to do here other than promote yourself? (I will drop Yunshui a note since they decided that an indefinite, advertising-only block was appropriate, based on a previous unblock request.) SmartSE (talk) 15:35, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Can I enquire as to what sort of action was referred to above? It might be an idea to read WP:NLT. Peridon (talk) 17:47, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Without going into detail, the UTRS ticket I dealt with gave the clear impression that Ptoone intended to continue creating promotional pages relating to Thexyz - the very thing he was blocked for. If he can give assurances that such editing will not continue in the future, then I am happy for any admin to lift or reduce the block as they see fit. Yunshui  07:56, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Thanks. Considering that all the edits in the last 2 years are promotional, it seems that the potential benefits of lifting the block aren't worth it when compared to the risk that the promotional edits will continue. SmartSE (talk) 12:28, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Answer edit

I am not trying to self promote myself, my clients include famous people and major international brands. I make contributions about the finance industry, music business and the web in general. I have also been cleaning up broken links. I have spent a lot of time learning about wikipedia editing and I do not want to jeopardize the investment of my time I have made in this. By "taking action" I am referring to continuing to take action to ensure my edits are replaced. I have enough influence to ensure the edits are correctly done and I am not implying any legal threats.

Blocked for sockpuppetry edit

Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account, which contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Sustainedmedia, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and admit to it now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Proposed deletion of Linda Nash edit

The article Linda Nash has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Google search shows Nash only produced the one album with King and does not show any associations with other music artists.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
