My biggest concern is notability; you say he is known for his research on African rift lake cichlids, yet you don't specify what he did with this that made him well-known. You need to put what he researched and what he accomplished with this research, and then back it up with a source. But you should really remove statements such as "Drawn by the climate and landcsape...", "...the woman who was arguably the best known African cichlid expert of the mid-20th century to the man who has held that distinction since the early 1990s.", and overly personal and random facts such as "Prominent fish exporter Stuart Grant and his wife Esther were best man and maid of honor." Lastly, a picture of Konings wouldn't hurt. But this is your first article, and I must say, you have done very well with it; I'm very impressed. SuperDT 07:13, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

One last thing, try to divide the article into sections, for ease of reading. Here's a good suggestion on how to do so:
It looks very good! Since you've established notability in so many ways, I went ahead and removed my notability tag. My last suggestion is to find a picture of him to add to the article, so people can put a face to the man. SuperDT 16:23, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Obviously, you don't have to do it exactly like this, and you'd want to choose better names for the sections, but that's how it should look. SuperDT 07:22, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
