Hi, I'm a newbie here so forgive me if I'm doing this wrong. On February 13th you put a banner on the top of our page saying we needed more citations. Thanks for trying- The Howard School

I looked at this one several times and backed off as there is just too much work needed to do. There is no obvious disambiguation- this is The Howard - is always with the article. The problem is with local government reorganisation. Currently, this bilateral school is not in Kent- so Howard School, Kent is wrong on two counts. It is in the unitary authority of Medway, which WP describes as within the Ceremonial County of Kent. All the functions and statistics relating to this school relate to Medway. Technically it is not in Rainham, but it has a Rainham postal address- and it was set up to serve children from that area of Gillingham, just outside the settlement of Rainham, but within the parish. And we are talking about Gillingham, Kent not Gillingham, Dorset- and Rainham, Kent not Rainham, Essex now known as Rainham, London. Not related but there is a similar problem between the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of East Kent and West Kent the boundary is popularly said to have followed the Medway- but their was an exception where the boundary followed the parish line between Rainham (East) and Gillingham (West) about 500m from this school- and battles were fought!

So it is not in Kent- but it was when it was founded, and its most unique feature as one of Britains 6 bilaterals was forged under Kent. But with national government policy it has changed its status- to an academy like most of Medways secondary schools- and it can be argued that Paul Morris now has the freedom to run the school as a creamed single-sex comprehensive.

Yes looking at the Navbox we see a further problem- it has not yet been edited to show the difference between the two authorities. Do we do two nav boxes or break with convention and split each category into sub boxes (my preference)

Added school infobox parameters at High Technology High School

I was thinking that esports earning could still be used as an "estimate" since there doesn't seem like there's another source that gives a total number that Smashers have earned. However useful this is, I used the number of twitter followers as a WP notability litmus test; Mango and M2K have around 28K followers each, Ken only has 16K but he's has other notability from Survivor and from being good back in the day. I think Armada and PPMD, who each have about 14k, aren't really notable enough at this point, although I guess that might change after the new documentary episode comes out.--Prisencolinensinainciusol (talk) 07:25, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

Alpha Phi Omega chapter pages.

Both of those pages are already transcluded onto the List of Alpha Phi Omega chapters and were deliberately split out in that manner to make the overall page (which also includes Petitioning Groups and interest groups) easier to handle. Given the width of information, the only way that I can see merging them is to recreate the larger page at List of Alpha Phi Omega chapters which is what I didn't want in the first place because it is too large. I posted the merger suggestion before trying to find out the history of the two pages. When I first saw the articles, I just assumed that they could've been merged by adding additional columns. With sortable tables in wiki software, it would be easy to find discern chronological or geographic order of Alphi Phi chapters.--Prisencolinensinainciusol (talk) 16:37, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Oh, they could be merged that way, but doing so in a manner that gives, IMO, a reasonable width for the tables seems difficult. If you'd like to make a combination in a sandbox, I'd love to see whether I can fit it on my screen. (And Alpha Phi Omega never abbreviates to Alpha Phi, as there is a sorority with that name. (And yes, I have a severe COI on Alpha Phi Omega, but these pages don't seem like anything (other than their existence) is something where COI affects it that much.)Naraht (talk) 18:38, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

School sources and infobox parameters

I'm trying to understand the purpose of your recent edit to Delran High School and other similar articles. Why add a source for each sentence in the text about enrollment that is covered by a single source for NCES data at the end of the paragraph? Why remove the NCES source from infobox parameters, when it isn't clear to a casual reader that they all come from the same source? That's it, the first round is done, sign-ups are closed and we're into round 2. 64 competitors made it into this round, and are now broken into eight groups of eight. The top two of each group will go through to round 3, and then the top scoring 16 "wildcards" across all groups. Round 1 saw some interesting work on some very important articles, with the round leader Freikorp (submissions) owing most of his 622 points scored to a Featured Article on the 2001 film Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within which qualified for a times-two multiplier. This is a higher score than in previous years, as Godot13 (submissions) had 500 points in 2014 at the end of round 1, and our very own judge, Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) led round 1 with 601 points in 2013.

In addition to Freikorp's work, some other important articles and pictures were improved during round one, here's a snapshot of a few of them:

• Cwmhiraeth (submissions) took Bumblebee, a level-4 vital article, to Good Article;
• AHeneen (submissions) worked-up the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 article, also to Good Article status;
• Rodw (submissions) developed an extremely timely article to Good Article, taking Magna Carta there some 800 years after it was first sealed;
• And last but not least, Godot13 (submissions) (FP bonus points) worked up a number of Featured Pictures during round 1, including the 1948 one Deutsche Mark (pictured right), receiving the maximum bonus due to the number of Wikis that the related article appears in.

I think in term of this specific subject I was hoping you could see what Sławomir Biały is trying to do. He is heavily against this article and reverted to a version which is more or less in violation of NPOV. He is using one source which has the most sensational claims and then restoring the version he feel would mostly likely be deleted. I hope you understand, he also removed the word alleged, because not every source says so. He is using this version claiming you are one who wants it restored. In my opinion, the disambiguation should be listed as (Super Smash Bros. player), since the games played in electronic sports have few similarities with one another as I'm sure you know. If a particular player plays multiple games at a high level, maybe that could be grounds to list them as (esports player). I'm guessing you've seen some of the other pro gaming wikipedia entries that have the (electronic sports player) disambiguation, in that case I'm actually going to change those ones too. Just in case your curious Team Final Boss Final Boss (electronic sports team) is an old delete article I always find it easier to work based on something I would go to WP:UNDELETE and ask an admin for the full revision history plus the talk page. They will userfy it for you and you can work on it and move it main space when ready let me know if you need any help, also I am think we should move all gamers to their real common name instead of tag. It looks more professional, and resolves other issues such as gamers changing their tag. What do you think? WP:COMMONNAME

I've done some more research and determined that progamers commonname should be there birth name. For example Mango has been stylzed MaNg0 even though no source stylizes like this only himself. In live tournaments people call PPMD, PeePee or Kevin, sources provided shows both names being used because we write to a general audience we should be using birth names. Let me know if you disagree. I've come to agree with you to an extent, however I still think that the player ID should be included in the article title. Basically I think the titles should be written (first) "Nickname" (last). IIRC this practice is listed in several English style guides, and is the de facto format for introducing players in esports journalism. That title is actually incorrect in theory the format is (electronic sports player) or (esports player) unless there are multiple gamers with the same name. I think PC Chris and Leffen are fine that is probably the common name. Zero has to be moved because most people searching Zero is not looking for the gamer. Per WP:NICKNAME/WP:STAGENAME (gamertags are sort of stagenames), I still think that the individual's stage name should be in in the article title to some degree. While the guideline does recommend eschewing quotation marks in article titles, occasionally articles like "Weird Al" Yankovic have been named so due to common usage of such quotation marks in media. About the ZeRo article, I don't know what the MOS says about this, but since titles are case sensitive side from the first letter, "ZeRo" is not the same thing as "Zero". So I don't necessarily see why it needs to have parenthetical disambiguation since no other notable thing is also known as "ZeRo". The second round one has all wrapped up, and round three has now begun! Congratulations to the 34 contestants who have made it through, but well done and thank you to all contestants who took part in our second round. Leading the way overall was Cas Liber (submissions) in Group B with a total of 777 points for a variety of contributions including Good Articles on Corona Borealis and Microscopium - both of which received the maximum bonus.

Special credit must be given to a number of high importance articles improved during the second round.

• Coemgenus (submissions) was one of several users who worked on improving Ulysses S. Grant. Remember, you do not need to work on an article on your own - as long as each person has completed significant work on the article during 2015, multiple competitors can claim the same article.
• Cwmhiraeth (submissions) took Dragonfly to Good Article for a 3x bonus - and if that wasn't enough, they also took Damselfly there as well for a 2x bonus.
• LeftAire (submissions) worked up Alexander Hamilton to Good Article for the maximum bonus. Hamilton was one of the founding fathers of the United States and is a level 4 vital article.

The points varied across groups, with the lowest score required to gain automatic qualification was 68 in Group A - meanwhile the second place score in Group H was 404, which would have been high enough to win all but one of the other Groups! As well as the top two of each group automatically going through to the third round, a minimum score of 55 was required for a wildcard competitor to go through. We had a three-way tie at 55 points and all three have qualified for the next round, in the spirit of fairness. The third round ends on June 28, with the top two in each group progressing automatically while the remaining 16 highest scorers across all four groups go through as wildcards.
