[1]I am absolutely sure the previous information in Wikipedia that he attended South "Amboy High School in New Jersey" is an error, perhaps an assumption.

I have the Miami Jackson yearbooks for 1952 and 1953 and Lee Corso is in them to by text and pictorially. I remember seeing Lee Corso play for Miami Jackson High School at their home games, played in the Orange Bowl on Thursday nights. I attended many Jackson games in 1952 and 1953 when Corso played for the Jackson Generals. As a junior, Corso's 1952 Jackson team became the first Florida high school team to defeat Miami Senior High School in decades. Under his photo, the yearbook states Corso was All-City, All-State and All Southern his senior year, thus earning him a scholarship to FSU, which had become a full coed university a few years before.

Corso was one of the few T-formation quarterbacks in the city and state back then as most high schools were still using the single wing. One of Corso's teammates on the Jackson team was Joe Brodsky, who went to the University of Florida where he was star a fullback and linebacker. They never played against each other in college because back then UF refused to schedule FSU. Joe Brodsky's son Larry was an All-American at the University of Miami in the 1980s.

Corso also played basketball quite well and was the team's second leading scorer as a guard his senior year when that team was 19-3 and made it to the state tournament. Brodsky went on to become a P.E. and football at Jackson, other high schools, the University of Miami and perhaps even the NFL.

All this can be verified with the Miami Herald.
