The Real Housewives of Orange County

edit

In the past 36 hours you have added the same content to The Real Housewives of Orange County,[1][2][3] despite it being reverted each time. This constitutes edit-warring, which is not acceptable. When an edit is reverted in good faith, the edit should not simply be restored, but instead the editor whose edit has been reverted should endeavour to gain consensus for the change on the article's talk page before restoring it. --AussieLegend () 01:29, 28 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

The Real Housewives of Atlanta

edit

Hello. I see that there is a small dispute in The Real Housewives of Atlanta article. First of all, such gossip sites as realitytv.com or gossiponthis.com should never be cited on Wikipedia because they are very questionable and unreliable sources. Second of all, Mynique Smith and Natalie Williams have never been hired as friends of the housewives, so why should their names appear in "Friends of the housewives" section? Mymis (talk) 22:01, 29 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

I agree that their appearances were important but they can't be included as a part of the cast since they appeared only in a few episodes, and the section is called "Friends of the Housewives" and they were not friends (never been actually hired). There have been dozens of people who appeared on the show and had fights with the cast but we're not gonna put them all in the table because then it'll become endless. The better place to put Williams and Smith's names (using reliable sources) would be "Storylines" section since they appeared in the show very briefly. Mymis (talk) 22:25, 29 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

As much as I understand, a Friend is referred to someone who is a part of the cast and appear in many episodes throughout the season and usually take part in reunion, like Marlo. Mynique Smith and Natalie Williams appeared in only several episodes and not notable enough to be included in the table. There are at least 20 people who have been on the show for two-three episodes but we're no gonna put them in the table. Again, you can mention them in "Storylines" section since they have been linked to only one storyline in only one season.Mymis (talk) 14:22, 31 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Column widths

edit

Please don't randomly change column widths in tables, as you did to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.[4] Only a few hours previously I went through all of the "Timeline of housewives" tables in the various "The Real Housewives" articles fixing errors in the tables and your edit simply added an error with no explanation. A similar thing happened recently. At The Real Housewives of Orange County you changed a column width without explanation,[5] which I fixed,[6] only to see you introduce the very same error 2 minutes later, again without any explanation.[7] Column widths cannot be changed randomly. Any column width change affects other columns. When totalled, table column widths have to match the width specified in the first row of the table code. For example in this revision of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills the table width is specified as 43%:

{| class="wikitable plainrowheaders" width="43%"

When added together the width parameter of the following header rows must equal 43%:

! scope="col" rowspan="2" width="13%" | Housewives
! scope="col" colspan="5" | Seasons
|-
! scope="col" style="width:6%;" | 1
! scope="col" style="width:6%;" | 2
! scope="col" style="width:6%;" | 3
! scope="col" style="width:6%;" | 4
! scope="col" style="width:6%;" | 5

As you can see, 13 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 43. However, the figures in this revision are incorrect:

{| class="wikitable plainrowheaders" width="50%"
! scope="col" rowspan="2" width="13%" | Housewives
! scope="col" colspan="5" | Seasons
|-
! scope="col" style="width:10%;" | 1
! scope="col" style="width:10%;" | 2
! scope="col" style="width:10%;" | 3
! scope="col" style="width:10%;" | 4
! scope="col" style="width:10%;" | 5

Adding these together we get 13 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 63, not 50. If you can't set the column widths correctl, it's best not to adjust any of them. --AussieLegend () 06:23, 10 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

I only changed the column widths so each column would be equal in length. For whatever reason when they are all the same number, they are not equal. (Powerpokmon (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2014 (UTC))Reply
Be that as it may, you need to ensure that changes are correct and don't introduce errors. I had actually changed all articles so they were consistent, with appropriate widths, and tested the results in various browsers on multiple devices so there should be no need to change anything. Please also note, when you post to somebody's talk page, add your post in an appropriate section at the end of the page, not at the top. --AussieLegend () 12:34, 10 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Given the above discussion, what was the point of this edit? Or this one/ You can't randomly adjust column widths. --AussieLegend () 05:22, 18 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Clearly you're just not getting the message regarding tables, as this edit demonstrates. How does 4+30=10? And here, why did you partially remove MOS:ACCESS/MOS:DTT compliance, violate MOS:BOLD, incorrectly apply col scopes to table rows, and yet again, screw up the formatting? 3+20 does not equal 32. --AussieLegend () 01:00, 19 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • This is exactly what happens when you randomly change column widths. I don't know why you are so fixated on column widths of only 3% but it's a ridiculous size. The column will not shrink to 3% because the text in the column is 4-5 times wider than that. The incorrectly specified widths are what cause the season columns, which are set to 10% to expand to ridiculous and unnecessary sizes. If you're not going to voluntarily stop distorting tables, then we may have to take this up at WP:ANI]. --AussieLegend () 05:54, 22 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:This is fanmade2.jpg

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:This is fanmade2.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
