Hej
Template

Progress on FR Project
editCongratulation for you dedication to the advancement of the project! Reply to David Latapie 17:37, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks :) I was impressed with how much work you have done already!! I got an idea to restructure some of the pages, though, as I edited them yesterday - I'll post it at the project talk page tonight or maybe tomorrow. Poulsen 17:43, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
- I replied. I also came up with a variant. My main consideration is not losing informations (some wa hard to come by). For the first variant (the one presently at the Thesk article), I removed duplicated stub and categories, but have problem with the layout in general, as well as with titles (see the TOC). Whatever we decide, I like your taxonomy (classification) and think we should keep it. Reply to David Latapie 02:25, 4 December 2005 (UTC).
- I already told you, but I need say it once again: wow! Your dedication to the job is astounding! Congratulations! Reply to David Latapie 10:02, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Bicycle racing
editThanks for the excellent updates and cleanup efforts on the cycle racing-related pages! Julius.kusuma 15:19, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Where should this be posted
editYou have left a message on Talk:Aalborg Boldspilklub about a notification that looks like this: Template:Wikify (replaced tag with the template link, as it was placing this page in the wikify category. -- Kjkolb 18:08, 17 February 2006 (UTC))
Where is a better place to put it? I am new, and that is my own, created, template. I don't like the idea of messing up good looking article's. But I want to be able to point out exactly what needs wikified. The default template does not allow for sections or for a comment as to why.
How should I proceed?Eagle (talk) (desk) 16:45, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
- Oh, my first reaction wasn't so much against the template, it was more that AaB is only one of a handful of Danish clubs that look like that (or worse) (see: Aarhus Gymnastik Forening, AC Horsens, and so on), so I went a little partisan because I didn't understand why you singled AaB out? About the message of the template, I looked at the links in it, and I couldn't see anything about 'too many red links'. In all essence, what your template is saying is: Go faster! It has nothing to do with quality, it's just a crack of a whip. If you read what wikifying means, it is actually adding links, which is what has been done, that there are no articles (yet) hasn't got very much to do with it, as I read your links. Unless what you meant was that the links should be removed? In that case, I would argue that if you remove the links now, some day the article is gonna be written, and then nobody would want to go around searching individual articles for references to wikify.
- In conclusion, I don't really understand your template, and I can't really interpret it in a way that I can agree with. Poulsen 16:52, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
I never thought of it that way. I'll remove it. I found it by the random article link. Again thanks for the heads up. Eagle (talk) (desk) 17:07, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
Danes
editHi, there are no sources, but I figured that since Greenland has a significant Dane population, and I heard of Danes in Latin America, I'd add estimates. Antidote 23:36, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
- Well, you were wrong, at least on Greenland.. Poulsen 00:26, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
- I guess the real question is, if you knew that -- why didn't you add it? I practically made the entire statistics page for Danes, and COULD have used some help, not just criticism. Also, I never said I was right (that's why I put EST next to it - plus being 14,000 off isn't necessarily a tragedy - so I'm sure you can get over it). Antidote 05:52, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

To tighten up collaborative working
editHi,
Please mail me your instant messenger addresses. Since we are in the same time zone, we could work in a more efficient way, I guess. I will reply with my IM values. Reply to David Latapie 11:10, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
Forgoettn Realms
editI thought that the content had been entered in error into the Category space.
A common style is to just have just the two lines in the category:
- {{catmore}}
- some parent category
That way, if you have both a page and category of the same name, then when you are browsing the cateogry, there will be a link to the content, leaving more room for browsing categories. But you please do it as you see fit. I am happy as long as you have at least one parent category. -- Fplay 18:40, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Gond
editHi, regarding the copy and paste allegation -- the article is sourced directly from Gond's entry in Faiths & Pantheons; the article you linked ([1]) is a word-for-word transcription of the sourcebook. I tried to be exhaustive in including all the info on Gond in Faiths & Pantheons; if you feel I've erred in making the source material and the current article close enough to warrant potential copyright infringement, I'll get to work on re-wording and reorganizing the article.--Muchness 01:10, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
- No problem, you have a point that the article and source material are perhaps too close for comfort. In my defense, it's difficult to write a comprehensive article and avoid similarities when there's only one sourcebook. I'll start work on a rewrite.--Muchness 01:25, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Article improvement drive
editHi Poulsen,
The Football AID is restarting. The next project article is to be selected on January 1, 2006. Please look at the nominations and take part actively. Thanks. -Aabha (talk) 10:44, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- I will, I have already added it to my watchlist, and will take a closer look one of the coming days. Poulsen 14:10, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
Stub templates
editPlease stop be more cautious when creating stub templates. Conscious 17:39, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- Currently, it's recommended to create a new stub template and category only if there are at least 60 stubs of the corresponding type. The France and Germany templates you've just created are fine, but there are only 26 stubs about Romanians and only 16 about Swiss in Category:European football biography stubs. Please see WP:WSS/P for more information. And thank you for sorting out German and French stubs (you beat me to it :) Conscious 17:47, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
Also, the spaces in the category sort keys are useful, as they force subcategories to appear at the top of the category, so you don't need to go to the third or fourth page to see there's a Scottish subcategory, for example. Conscious 17:52, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- By the way, the next largest nations (in terms of footybio-stubs) are Turkey (58 stubs, and I proposed that at WP:WSS/P today), Serbia and Montenegro (42) and Netherlands (40). Others are less than 40. Conscious 18:02, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- The aim is not to create as many categories as possible (there are over 1200 stub categories already), but to prevent them from growing too large. For example, efforts of yours and mine brought the Category:European football biography stubs from ~1250 to ~550 entries.
- If you feel that more categories are nessessary, please go ahead and propose them. New stub types are normally approved if there are 60 stubs and the template and category names are regular. {{Euro-footybio-stub}} subtypes may be speedily approved as several similar subtypes have been created recently. Conscious 15:24, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, my initial remark wasn't very polite and measured. Conscious 09:16, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

RE:Template:Danish Superliga
editHi Poulsen.
It sounds like a very good idea. I have only copied the template from {{Norwegian Premier League}}, and added {{Danish Superliga stadiumlist}}.
You can just make it as you want. It will make the articles a higher quality, so just go a head. Kalaha 12:31, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

Bayern Munich page. Notable players section
edit- There was nothing wrong with having both tables there. Kingjeff 20:23, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
It still doesn't looked improved. Kingjeff 20:47, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
Even though you can clasify them under the same heading, they're really 2 different tables. In Germany, you really can't go back before 1963. Kingjeff 21:19, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
Franz John was a Berliner who created Bayern Munich. So he isn't a notable player. Soccer wasn't professional until 1963 and Bayern wasn't that succesful until the 1970s. So, the likelihood that there was top players at Bayern is very small. Anyways, this isn't worth continuing and it's not the worst thing that has happen to any of my contributions this past week. Kingjeff 21:19, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
Don't worry about it. It's not worth the agrivation. Kingjeff 21:29, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
New table on the Bayern Munich page
editI've put a new table in the honour section of Bayern Munich I can't seem to fix it to perfection. Can you do it? Kingjeff 00:48, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
It's just bloody easier to read in a table. Kingjeff 00:58, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
You're being rediculus. There was nothing wrong with the tables. Kingjeff 02:37, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Were you not the 1 who redid the 1st and reserve squad tables? Kingjeff 02:43, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about that. When I saw that you had touched the 1st team squad, I thought you had touched the tables too. Kingjeff 02:47, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Please do it
editHow do I get my account deleted? Kingjeff 02:57, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
I never claimed that it was. Wikipedia doesn't have any common sense. Kingjeff 03:08, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Spørgsmål om Denmark national football team
editHej Poulsen. Jeg ville bare spørge om du ikke synes Denmark national football team's historiesektion er for lang, og om den sektion skal flyttes til History of Denmark national football team så der kun er et uddrag på Denmark national football team??? Kalaha 16:44, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
Many thanks for having found an admin to sort the mess. I listed the page on requested move, because I didn't know any admin. You made things move faster. There is still a little problem with the talk page, but I left a message on JoanneB's talk page to ask the talk page to be moved back to Talk:Minor characters in Tintin. Glaurung 07:18, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for jogging my memory
editI just wanted to say thanks for your additions to the 2002 World Cup talk page under my 'Almost Didn't Qualify' heading. Living in the US the "beautiful game" often gets short shrift in the newspapers and in '02 I wasn't online to have access to all the info available. But I did remember that when Brazil and Germany made it to the finals it was interesting that they had both come somewhat close to not being there at all. Thanks again! User:MarnetteD | Talk 05:37, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
editI would like to express my thanks to all the good people who spent their valuable time time and effort working on my (failed) RfA voting. Especially for those who actually voted to support me :). Lets move on and make together our Wikipedia an even greater place abakharev 09:50, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi Poulsen, how are you doing? I remember you were opposed (initially) to the separation of the Monkey Island articles. I would just like to ask about what do you think about the articles now? I hope you see what I meant in the first place back then, and not only for the platform categorization :) Pictureuploader 17:18, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Parken billede
editHej. Kalaha 14:57, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- Hej. Se her: User talk:JoanneB#Parken image. Kalaha 20:53, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Korean translation
editThe precise translation of the banner is: "Sons of Hitler, Leave!".
"Sons" can be replaced with "children" or "offspring". i.e. It refers to people who have Hitler as their direct ancestor.
What a nasty banner, by the way.

Minor characters
editHello Poulsen,
I was away from my computer the last couple days. Thank you for your work on the Minor characters in Tintin. I think that the actual situation is a good balance between a page for each character and a single page with all characters. Glaurung 07:08, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
