April 2020 edit

  Hello, I'm MrOllie. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Potato starch have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. August 2021 edit

  This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, as you did at Potato, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Zefr (talk) 17:35, 9 August 2021 (UTC):I am confused as to why you feel the United States Potato Board is not relevant to the Wikipedia Potato page? It is the number 1 resources in America regarding potatoes. The British Potato Council is listed, yet the Unites States Potato Council is not relevant? Thank you for your help to better understand how the United States Potato Board, a Federally approved commodity board, is not relevant to information about potatoes?Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Potatoesusa. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Potato, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Your username indicates you are promotional of US potatoes, and may be associated with a commercial potato organization. You should not be editing articles on any topic of potatoes. Further such editing will get you reported to admin for potential blocking. Zefr (talk) 17:38, 9 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
