Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, PotatoSamurai! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Ryan. 15:47, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

  • Glad to see you created an account. Actually, all welcome messages, warnings, etc. are done by users. I could have used the {{welcome}} template, but I prefer my own. It's more personal. You make sure those friends of yours start giving you some credit for all your hard work. :P Ryan 15:57, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

Wikipedia needs you

edit

Hi, PotatoSamurai. You have helped with a number of articles in the past, but you haven't edited any articles in a while. Could you make some new contributions soon to help make Wikipedia better?

I hope you decide to become a more active contributor again. Feel free to drop me a line on my talk page. -- ForteTuba 03:22, 25 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Revision to Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri articles

edit

I noticed that you have revised either Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri or Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire.

I intend to revise those articles following the Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Article guidelines. There are more details on the discussion pages of those articles. I'd be interested in any comments you have. It would be best if your comments were on the discussion pages of the two articles.

Thank you.

List of ethnic slurs

edit

Hi, PotatoSamurai. Your theory may well be correct, but it's a slippery slope to let anything go unsourced on a list of ethnic slurs. I hope you can find a source for it. In reply to your edit summary, there's a list of inline maintenance templates here; just copy and paste as needed. Rivertorch (talk) 16:18, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
