Automated message to bot owners

edit

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 04:45, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/April 30, by Black Falcon (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/April 30 fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

G6 (housekeeping). This is an unused and outdated redirect that was created before the "Portal:" namespace was used. Its only history is a pagemove (preserved in the target) by the Portal namespace initialisation script. The page has no incoming links, except from a list of pages from a database dump, so there is no issue with broken links. Also, the redirect is not useful as a search term ... anyone who's aware of a sub-sub-subpage of a portal is sure to be aware of its correct title. I contend that this is eligible for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#G6, rather than requiring an RfD, due to the precedent here and because the existence of the redirects is a technical issue only ... they only exist because the "Portal:" namespace was not used at the time.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/April 30, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 00:26, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/May 13, by Black Falcon (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/May 13 fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

G6 (housekeeping). This is an unused and outdated redirect that was created before the "Portal:" namespace was used. Its only history is a pagemove (preserved in the target) by the Portal namespace initialisation script. The page has no incoming links, except from a list of pages from a database dump, so there is no issue with broken links. Also, the redirects are not useful as search terms ... anyone who's aware of a sub-sub-subpage of a portal is sure to be aware of its correct title. I contend that this is eligible per WP:CSD#G6, rather than requiring an RfD, due to the precedent here and because the existence of the redirects is a technical issue only ... they only exist because the "Portal:" namespace was not used at the time.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/May 13, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/August 19, by Black Falcon (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/August 19 fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/September 29 fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

G6 (housekeeping). This is an unused and outdated redirect that was created before the "Portal:" namespace was used. Its only history is a pagemove (preserved in the target) by the Portal namespace initialisation script. The page has no incoming links, except from a list of pages from a database dump, so there is no issue with broken links. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/July 8 fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/October 5, by Black Falcon (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Trains/Anniversaries/October 5 fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
