The record amount won by one person on their own on The Chase is definitely £10,000. I know this for a fact because it was me who won it!

It was Series 4, Episode 15 when I beat Shaun. The producers of the show told me I am the record winner & nobody has beaten me since.

You may be referring to the most questions answered correctly in the 1st round which possibly is 12 but that doesn't mean they won the money. This particular record is for the amount actually won at the end of the show by one person on their own in the final.

I am really proud of this record. Please stop taking it away from me, particularly when I know for a fact I am right.

Thanks,

Pete Tomlin

Thanks for checking back & agreeing with me re: most won by one person alone. However, I AM the only one. Others have won more but not ON THEIR OWN. Check back through the history again. I only put my name there originally to make a point, i.e. to show that I knew what I was talking about. I won't be adding it again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FingersLily (talkcontribs) 13:17, 25 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry to keep banging on about this but please try to understand what I am saying.

The producers of the show actually told me that I hold this record. The record is for the most amount won at the end of the show by an individual who is in the Final Chase on their own because all the other contestants have gone out.

If you look back at the episode history, you will see that there are only 3 occasions ever where 1 contestant has won the Final Chase on their own. There was a person who won £7,000 & another who won £8,000. The 3rd person is me & I won £10,000 (series 4, episode 15).

The person that you are entering is someone who banked £12,000 into the final pot. That is impressive but they didn't win £12,000 and they didn't win the Final Chase on their own. You are confusing this record.

I also know I am the record holder because I originally added this record onto the page back when I achieved it. At the time I also held the record for the lowest winning score but that has since been beaten.

Please do not change my record again (unless someone beats it).

Thank you.
