Long quote on Linguistic anthropology

edit

You added a very long quote as the first sentence of the article Linguistic anthropology. Since you cited a source, this is probably not a question of copyright violation, but it seems like poor style to make the first sentence of the lead a direct quotation. Could you rewrite the addition in your own words? Your previous attempt (here) is better, but is still a close paraphrase. Thanks, and happy editing. Cnilep (talk) 16:06, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the message. I added the quote as a temporary fix, because the previous description of Linguistic anthropology wasn't clear. I didn't want many minor revisions to show up in the history so I moved a copy of article to my subpage User:Pooya72/Linguistic Anthropology. I'll update the changes when I have something presentable. Pooya72 (talk) 18:12, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Your latest revisions look very good. I'll help you with the citation format.   Thank you. Cnilep (talk) 13:21, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your help. Would it be OK to leave the footnotes in? Footnotes to external sites make it easier for newbies like me to reference material. I don't have think to find the sources. Makes learning a little bit easier, and helps to keep things clear. Maybe we could just add links to your citations?
Citations need to be in a consistent style, per the Wikipedia:Manual of style. I have suggested, at Talk:Linguistic anthropology, that all of the citations be changed to footnotes. Your comments are welcome there. Cnilep (talk) 14:47, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Burhan Ghalioun

edit

The article Burhan Ghalioun has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
