Re: IU edit

Hi Pooriyaa, the first issue with File:IU Palette Concert.jpg is that, on en.wiki, you can upload only free contents not under copyright, and the photo of a person is likely copyrighted by its photographer. Non-free contents are used only where no free equivalents are available: as IU is still living, it's possible that someone may take a photo of her and share it with a suitable license for Wikipedia in the future. In short, photos of living people can't be uploaded on en.wiki.

If they have a suitable license, photos can be uploaded on Wikimedia Commons, where they will be available not only to en.wiki, but to all projects in every language. Here comes the second issue with the photo you uploaded: there's a watermark on it stating "copyright, all rights reserved"; moreover, under the last photo on http://4goldfly.tistory.com/71, you can see this:  . It's the symbol of a license not OK for Commons.

In the future, if you want to upload other photos, I suggest you to upload them on Commons after you have read Commons:Licensing, especially the Well-known licenses section.

In conclusion, there's nothing you can do for IU Palette Concert.jpg, it will be deleted. Still, IU has lots of photos on Commons in her category (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:IU_(vocalist)).

Have a good day. --ChoHyeri (talk) 08:59, 30 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'm really thankful for your answer. Pooriyaa (talk) 09:12, 30 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello Pooriyaa, I've noticed that you are getting multiple warnings from that user ElopeGarry. It's suspected that the user is a sockpuppet of Bertrand101, or more commonly known as AkoAyMayLobo. He is a long-term fan and editor of Park Bo-gum. You can view his sockpuppet record here: [1] So do not worry about getting blocked because he is the one likely to be blocked soon. I would appreciate it if you could take note of his edits and report his future accounts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.253.235.225 (talk) 18:48, 27 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for informing me I will report if I see the same thing happen in the future Pooriyaa (talk) 18:58, 27 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
