Great job on King Zog!
editJust wanted to say a big thanks for your recent work on the King Zog article. I'd made some tweaks on it but despaired of ever really cleaning it up properly. Your edits preserved the info that was there but made it coherent. Thanks! --Jfruh 13:35, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
Póvoa de Varzim
edit- I'm pleased with your edits in Póvoa de Varzim article. I don't use English as a native language, so that is of great value, thanks. ;) -Pedro 30 June 2005 18:36 (UTC)
Oliver
editHi,
Thanks for your edits on the Oliver article. This doesn't give us the actual etymology, but I guess eventually somebody will get it.

Lau Islands, Fiji
editTHANK YOU for your excellent article on Fiji's Lau Islands! Contributors to Fiji-related topics are very thin on the ground, and I am delighted that you have joined us. I hope you will stay and contribute regularly to Fijian topics. David Cannon 00:56, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
Late thanks
editGreat improvement to Sophonisba. I only researched her to get at the basis of Thomson's Sophonisba, and that only to get at the source of Fielding's satirical "O Huncamunca, Huncamunca O" in The Tragedy of Tragedies, or Tom Thumb the Great (1732). Thomson, looking for a metrical line, had written the immortal "O Sophonisba, Sophonisba O," and Fielding the parody. It's nice to see such a good article come out of such a cursory one. Chinchan Islands War
editHello there! I found that your researchs about this war that involved Peru, Chile and Spain are fairly accurate, and let me congratulate you for the quality of the article. I'm Messhermit, a Peruvian Wikipedist, and I would be glad to work with you in this type of articles. I will improve the Chinchan Islands Article in any way that I can. Leave some words in my talk page. Cheers ! Messhermit 17:00, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
Booth edit inquiry.
editHello,
I noticed that you recently edited the Booth page and removed the entry on one Richard Booth. Could you please tell me why you removed it? I was just curious... Folajimi 17:04, 19 January 2006 (UTC)(talk)
- Usually I don't do this, but uh...
- Does the Jennifer Haigh stub qualify for deletion (like the Richard Booth issue did?) Just curious, is all... Folajimi(talk)
"Augustus" versus "Adolphus" Washington Greely
editHi Polylerus: Are you able to explain me since when Adolphus W. Greely's name changed to "Augustus"? At Arlington Cemetery you may find his grave - and there his name is Adolphus ([[1]])! Thanks in advance --Ansgar Walk 23:40, 03 April 2006 (CET)
NIGHT ON EARTH
editHi!
1. thanks for starting the NIGHT ON EARTH article - I love that film, especially the New York episode (which is why I added some info)
2. would you know if a screenplay of that movie exists? I've been looking for it everywhere, but had no success...

Thank you for your contributions to WikiProject Saints. I have a few suggestions based on your recent edits.
- It is not necessary to add your articles to the "use so far" page. (It's there for historical reasons.) You are using the new template, which generates a list automatically.
- Please read the directions on the use of this box (Template:Infobox Saint). Note that the "Venerated in" box refers to the religious denomination, not the country.
- When editing, use the "Show preview" button rather than making frequent saves. It will save Wikipedia's memory, and make it easier for others to see your changes.
Happy Editing! --Bwpach 18:11, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

editHi, did you originally upload Image:GBentivoglio.JPG? Would you know who painted that? Thanks and cheers, AxelBoldt 22:48, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for expanding this ! I made a couple of tweaks and added another ref. Taylor supposes that Serf did indeed meet with Adomnán, which would make him a 7th century figure. I'll see if I can find a copy of the Vita anywhere on the Internet Archive. It must have been on a webpage at one time. Thanks again. Angus McLellan (Talk) 22:28, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Oumpah pah
editHi Polylerus, I read Oumpah pah as a kid and have spent a lot of effort to find any references to it online ( I remembered it as Oompa Pa and got stuck with oompa loompa whenever i did a google search). discovered wiki recently and found the stub on Oumpah. Do you know of any online resources where on can get English Oumpah pah and Lucky Luke comics ? Haphar 07:55, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Quiricus and Julietta
editGood work! I started the article because there's a church dedicated to the pair in Tickenham, near where I grew up. As the article says, it's a very rare dedication in the UK. It's very nice to see an article which I started as a brief paragraph expanded into something good. --ajn (talk) 13:53, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Hello ! I have done a little article on James the Deacon/Ioacobus Diaconus, the 7th century missionary to Northumbria. I believe he's a saint in some calendars. If you have any information to add, that would be great. All the best ! Angus McLellan (Talk) 11:51, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Root Beer
editThe image that you added to the root beer article had once been used but was removed by an editor who noted that the product is actually a brand of Malzbier and had been mislabelled in the commons. Did you know nomination for Gratus of Aosta
editHowdy! Whilst browsing through Special:Newpages for potential articles to feature as part of the Did you know? section of the Main Page, I ran across the article Gratus of Aosta, which you created. You can see the proposed blurb at Template talk:Did you know under the date heading corresponding to the creation of the article. I'm adding this notice here for two reasons: Firstly, if you feel the blurb I wrote is inaccurate or misrepresents the subject, feel free to propose a correction below it, or add a note to my talk page. Secondly, barring a large backlog or a significant problem cropping up with regards to the article, you should expect to see it on the Main Page within a week, so if you wish to add some polish to it before getting a sizable influx of eyeballs looking it over, you'll need to do so fairly soon. Regards and good luck, GeeJo (t)⁄(c) • 19:51, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

editHave a barnstar!
editHi Polylerus,
First of all, I would like to congratulate you for all the good work on the Saints project. So I thought you could do with a barnstar :-) On another matter, I am sorry about not having uploaded the Justa and Rufina images as I promised you. I found out my digital camera was misbehaving and all photos came out blurred. Got to love the Gremlins! Well, have a nice Christmas too. Asteriontalk 18:38, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Saint Leontius
editHi, further to your edits re various Saints Leontius, the July_1 page has a link to Saint Leontius, Bishop of Autun, confessor. This appears to be a different individual again, but I will leave it to you to verify that.
June_18 also lists Saint Leontius under Liturgical Feasts - now that you have added info specifying which one, I will re-link that. Fayenatic london 22:13, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Saint Mary (disambiguation)
editGood idea to create a Saint Mary (disambiguation) page! I've linked to it from Saint Mary's (disambiguation), and linked it to Santa Maria (disambiguation). I've recently been working on the Saint Mary's disambiguation page - and all the secondary disambiguation pages from it - Saint Mary's Bay, Saint Mary's College, Saint Mary's Hospital, Saint Mary's Church... there are loads. I think it makes sense to keep Saint Mary and Saint Mary's separate, so I'd like to remove the {{incomplete}} template from Saint Mary (disambiguation) page. Is that is okay with you? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by CarolGray (talk • contribs) 10:08, 23 February 2007 (UTC). Sorry I forgot to sign. CarolGray 10:09, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Plonker
editNo, not calling you one! Referring to the edit I just made to that article. Your added meaning seems to me to be very specific usage restricted to a group of French speaking linux enthusiasts and not really encyclopaedic. My French is rubbish but I'm guessing that it's used as an insult for a person who sets up their kill file in a certain way. This is hardly any different from the standard usage and the fact that the explaination is in French further reduces any value this bit of trivia might have. If it is a generally used term in linux enthusiast circles, with some technical meaning, then it should be noted as such and the definition given in English. If it's merely a case of calling someone a plonker for doing something plonkerish, then it should not be mentioned. --JamesTheNumberless 13:54, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
