RfA edit

It looks like it's going okay. Remember to not respond to every oppose ;-) - Good luck! ScarianCall me Pat 22:19, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I only respond if I believe it to be plainly wrong - or if the user in question is called Kurt :) No, I promise to keep quite now. Thanks, Poeloq (talk) 22:21, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Staffwaterboy 2 edit

Apologies for the slight delay with adding the closing templates, but you've added an oppose after it was closed. Regards, Rudget (?) 19:38, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I just noticed. Sorry about that, however my offer to him still stands and is therefore still of use. Poeloq (talk) 19:39, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Doesn't matter, I'll just update the final counts etc. Thanks for the speedy reply. Rudget (?) 19:40, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your RfA edit

Could you please answer question 14? Thanks, Littleteddy (roar!) 04:26, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Done. Poeloq (talk) 10:02, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

updating counter edit

I am not sure what you meant by "updating counter", but if you are referring to User:SQL/RfX Report, that updates about once every 30 minutes. Cheers, Kingturtle (talk) 13:05, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

You are now an administrator edit

Congratulations, I have just closed your RfA as successful and made you an administrator. Take a look at the administrators' how-to guide and the administrators' reading list if you haven't read those already. Also, the practice exercises at the new admin school may be useful. If you have any questions, get in touch on my talk page. WjBscribe 16:41, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thorn In Side edit

Hi. Thanks for getting back to me. The aricle in question was Costume Wench which has been turned into a redirect. Two IP's came out of nowhere to start editing this article and to remove the speedy notice. One of those IP's has a massive history of previous blocks; many of the subjects are similar between it and the user. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:58, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

RfA - Discospinster edit

Thank you so much for your support in my RfA, which was successful with a final count of 70/1/1! ... discospinster talk 23:26, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Whoops! edit

Sorry for never giving a vote in your RFA! I had meant to and thought I had but in reviewing see that I didn't. Thank you for answering my question and my vote would have (well, is Support). Congo rats on becoming an admin. --Ozgod (talk) 12:18, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

No problem :) See you around, Poeloq (talk) 12:50, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

RfA - Toddst1 edit

RfA - Toddst1 Hi, Poeloq, thanks for supporting my RfA, which passed with 42 supports, 0 opposes, and 0 neutrals. I'm pleased that the Wikipedia community has trusted me with the mop. Of course, special thanks goes to my nominator, Kakofonous. Cheers! Toddst1 (talk) 15:14, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Block on IP address 216.73.64.194 edit

Thanks for this - the article they vandalized most recently happened to be on my watch list, so I was able to undo it reasonably quickly.

Before I left the note for the admins, I noticed that eight warnings had already been placed on the talk page for this address since the first edit from that address in September 2007, including a final warning.

I actually just took a quick look through the contributions from this address. Out of the 35 edits made in total, 28 of them have been undone - one edit actually sat untouched for a month before it was noticed. Most of the remaining edits were one side or the other of a test edit that was fixed by the address. None of the edits were constructive.

I'm not optimistic that 24 hours will be long enough, but it's a start! Mlaffs (talk) 21:09, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey Mlaffs! Thanks for reporting the vandal. I hope 24 hours is enough, but you may be right. However, if it happens again in the near future, the next admin (or possibly me again) will be sure to impose a longer block. Thanks again, Poeloq (talk) 22:48, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your support! edit

Hello, and thanks for your support in my recent RFA! The final result was 61/0/3, so I've been issued the mop! I'm extremely grateful for your confidence in me and will strive to live up to it. Thanks again! —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 07:27, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

RFA thanks edit

    Thanks for the support
Thanks for your support on my request for adminship, which passed 92/2/2. I'll learn the ways of the mop, and be sure to live up to the expectations of the community. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:05, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

User talk:198.83.124.253 edit

I am a faculty member at BMCC which is the site for IP 198.83.124.253 and am well aware that it is a hotbed of Internet vandalism. Please see my note on User talk:Crazycomputers; you will earn my undying gratitude if you can expedite a one-year block on anonymous editing from this IP. Next Wikimeet? edit

Looks like there is some concensus - Sunday April 13th 2008. Lunchtime meeting at The Penderel's Oak, near Holborn. Wanna make it so? Gordo (talk) 09:10, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Seems like a good plan, count me in. Poeloq (talk) 11:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Hey edit

Umm...about Chinese music...well I usually just use some websites as reference material. Should I give you the links? Most if not all of the sites are written in Chinese. Lily1104 (talk) 02:57, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

P.S. How often should I check back to your talk page to see if you reply?
It depends. I normally reply within a day. Links would be appreciated :) Poeloq (talk) 21:04, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
