Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Podmgr. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

File permission problem with File:Gas Dock Port of Dubuque.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Gas Dock Port of Dubuque.jpg, which you've attributed to The Port of Dubuque Marina Staff i. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

• make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or

Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Port of Dubuque Marina. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! Port of Dubuque Marina

The edits you made to Port of Dubuque Marina have been reverted due to a number of issues.

1. You removed the {{coord}} template which is essential to geolocating the port.
2. You cannot simply make up template parameters. Adding things like "Number of slips" or "Laundry Facility" doesn't work. Please see WP:TEMPLATE.
3. You have a clear WP:COI with editing and appear to be using Wikipedia to promote your business which is not allowed.
