CIT Speedy Deletion

Hi Pmlinediter,

I noticed that you have marked the article below for speedy deletion:

However, I am the owner of the material from the website. The material published is, as far as I can see, objective; I have only stated the service and listed the clients. I have sent an email containing details of the permission for this text in accordance with WP:OTRS and I am waiting to hear the outcome. Would you be able to advise on what may occur?

Hello, thanks for removing the warning earlier. I have a problem. It's the user User:Mybottomreallyhurts who keeps on editing the record for week 7. I kept undoing the changes he makes but keeps reverting it back. I know this is true and another user 220.101.101.98 agreed and put the results as well. However, I have tried to tell them about this but keeps editing the entry over and over again. Can you help out in any way possible? 2010 WikiCup Signups Reconfirmation!

To ensure that everyone who signed up is still committed to participating in the 2010 WikiCup, it is required that you remove your name from this list! By removing your name, you are not removing yourself from the WikiCup. This is simply a way for the judges to take note of who has not yet reconfirmed their participation. If you have not removed your name from that list by December 30th, 2009 (by 23:59 (UTC)) then your name will be removed from the WikiCup.

It's worth noting the rules have changed, likely after you signed up. The changes made thus far are:

• Mainspace and/or portal edits will not be awarded points at all.
• Did you know? articles (which were worth 5 points last year) will now be worth 10 points.
• Good articles (which were worth 30 points last year) will now be worth 40 points.
• Valued pictures will be now awarded points, however the amount (5 or 10 points) is still being discussed.
• Featured lists (which were worth 30 points last year) will now be worth 40 points.
• Featured portals (which were worth 25 points last year) will now be worth 35 points.
• Featured articles (which were worth 50 points last year) will now be worth 100 points.
• Featured topics (which were worth 10 points per article last year) will now be worth 15 points per any article in the topic that you were a major contributor to.
• Good topics (which were worth 5 points per article last year) will now be worth 10 points per any article in the topic that you were a major contributor to.
• In the news will still be awarded points, however the amount (5 or 10 points) is still being discussed.

If you have any final concerns about the WikiCup's rules and regulations, please ask them now, before the Cup begins to avoid last minute problems. You may come to the WikiCup's talk page, or any of the judge's user talk pages. We're looking forwards to a great 2010 WikiCup! The 2010 WikiCup begins tomorrow!

Welcome to the biggest WikiCup Wikipedia has yet seen! Round one will take place over two months, and finish on February 26. There is only one pool, and the top 64 will progress. The competition will be tough, as more than half of the current competitors will not make it to round 2. Details about scoring have been finalized and are explained at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring. Please make sure you're familiar with the scoring rules, because any submissions made that violate these rules will be removed. Like always, the judges can be reached through the WikiCup talk pages, on their talk page, or over IRC with any issues concerning anything tied to the Cup. We will keep in contact with you via weekly newsletters; if you do not want to receive them, please remove yourself from the list here. Conversely, if a non-WikiCup participant wishes to receive the newsletters, they may add themselves to that list. Well, enough talk- get writing! Your submission's page is located here. Details on how to submit your content is located here, so be sure to check that out! RightToVanish or name change?

I will not be editing or submitting any material. I wanted the username changed because I used my own name in it and would like to maintain a certain level of privacy, and if you feel that a RightToVanish would be suitable in this situation than by all means do it just after removing my name to anything random. Basically what is done with the account doesn't matter to be as long as the name's something random. Signature

Hello! I was wondering how you get different fonts in your signature (ie. Comic Sans, Trebuchet MS, Times New Roman, etc. etc.) because I really want to change my signature. Novels on signpost

I'm planning to run a feature on Wikiproject Novels on the signpost this week (hopefully!). The plan is to do the report in a q&a format, I'll post a bunch of questions in my userspace and you (along with alan16 and kevinalewis) respond to the questions. If we can get it done by Saturday, the feature would run on the next signpost. Do you have the time (and interest)? Thanks!

Sorry to bug you, so I'll keep it short: I want to improve a group of articles on the Hyperion Cantos-a tetralogy by Dan Simmons -(see Category_talk:Novels_by_Dan_Simmons), and I am not sure a) how to add what I want to add, and b) if it is possible to rename some of the articles to improve clarity/show connection/standardize. non-free rational on free image

You recently uploaded File:Simplis.png tagged with a nonfree rational and a free license, if you have done this because the upload form added it automatically and you don't believe that the screenshot is non-free then read below.

When I uploaded the File:Acid3detailSafari4.png and File:Acid3detailMidori0.1.9.png the form asked me if I got that shot from a GPL program, and so the screenshot file is GPL too. I choosed that option uploading the file. I do not understand what I had to write more and in which field of images file, to prevent deleting. Can you help me? I never chosed the templete, I followed the guided steps, and the template was chosed automatically. I describe the procedure I used for upload, so you can explain where is the error:
- clicked to left menu, Upload file, point to https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Wikipedia:Upload
- Chosed the link "A screenshot taken of a movie, TV program, computer game, web site, computer program, music video, or other such source" because the file is a screenshot of a computer program. Point to: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/w/index.php?title=Special:Upload&uselang=en-screenshot&wpUploadDescription={{Non-free use rationale%0A+|Article+++++++++++=+%0A+|Description+++++++=+%0A+|Source++++++++++++=+%0A+|Portion+++++++++++=+%0A+|Low_resolution++++=+%0A+|Purpose+++++++++++=+%0A+|Replaceability++++=+%0A+|other_information+=+%0A}}

• Hmm got to talk to someone about that form, ok so here is how things stand only use non-free rational if you are uploading a unfree image ex:screenshot of copyrighted program etc. or image with unfree elements like screenshot of internet explorer (fairuse rational for iexplorer) viewing wikipedia (free wikipedia web page screenshot).The reason it ads a Non-free use rationale by default its because 99% of screenshots uploaded are unfree. So if you want to upload a 100% free image to wikipedia and the standard options give you ex:<Chosed the link "A screenshot taken of a movie, TV program, computer game, web site, computer program, music video, or other such source"> produse a rational by default try the Entirely my own work option. Or better yet if the image is 100% free, upload direct to commons. Free use image template

You have tagged 3 images that I uploaded on Subtext as conflicting license. But that was the default generated wikitext since I used the image upload wizard/script. And the free use template does not exist/has been deleted. I've not intentionally tagged my images as free + nonfree but Wikipedia is designed that way.
