Recreated and changed the article

edit

Dear all,

I recreated the page which was previously deleted. I read feedback administrators gave (than you very much), went through Wikipedia guidelines on deletions and this document http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Why_was_my_page_deleted%3F. I removed all data that may sounded like marketing material, added some more facts I could find and made sure the page does not violate any rules and above all: contains correct data and is not an advert. My intent is to build Wiki knowledge base by adding software I know of and use and not generate somebody money or misinform others! As far as I am concerned the software is used by several large companies in Poland. I heared in national radio that even students of one high school in Poland are using the software to plan their exams and getting to studies which is pretty impressive how schools introduce project management and prepare community to better manage their own projects. As a project manager I am impressed by that approach - I had to discover project management myself. Google news lists a lot of entries but they are in Polish. The fact that software is popular on one market and not the other does not mean that one can discriminate entries like this one. If this article still requires some changes please let me know what to change. As a guideline of proper page on project management software I used Microsoft Project site.

As I stated when I proposed deletion, the article needs to reference reliable sources to show that the software is notable. This google news search does bring up 4 articles in polish but the coverage needs to be more than a brief mention. I've translated a couple and am not convinced that this is the case - they all seem to be copies of the same article, of which only one paragraph is about the software. If you are able to provide offline references to establish notability, (such as in trade magazines) then it may be possible to keep the article. Smartse (talk) 12:37, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Smartse for spending your time and explaining to me the reason why this article was marked for deletion. Now I uderstand. My observation is that Google news may not be the best tool in determining notability of non-English software - just my opinion. As I do not want my job to be deleted I did a 15-minutes quick scan of the Internet and found some meaningful and reliable references (some are online versions of offline materials, some more and some less reliable). I do not have any printed copy but hope this is not a problem. Below I pasted links I found to various sources (magazines, associations, conferences, etc.)
  1. Review of P2ware Planner Suite on Polish chapter of International Project Management Association The software is reviewed on the top, it is widely used in Poland
  2. Product Based Planner (mentioned in my Wikipedia article) in PC World Computer
  3. P2ware Planner in Microsoft catalog
  4. All P2ware applications in the same catalog
  5. There was a lecture "Bolesław Bernyś - Wdrożenie systemu zarządzania projektami „P2ware Planner” w firmie z sektora „Integrator Telekomunikacyjny”" There was a session on major Polish project management conference about deployment of P2ware Planner in a company managing yearly 300-400 projects
  6. P2ware Planner was exhibited on Project Challange 2009 in London
  7. Planner can be found in Project Manager Today and on their website
  8. The article you found - I guess. There is really very little information on the software
  9. Universities purchase Planner for their students

There are also other I think less reliable sources (blogs are thought to be not so reliable as I learned from Wikipedia?)

  1. pm-software-blog.com blog
  2. http://www.pmweb.co.uk/P2ware_2008_Planner_Suite.htm
  3. http://noesis.net.au/Products/P2WarePlanner.html
  4. http://www.pm4all.be/Content/En/Shop/Shop.aspx?Category=11

When I was writing my article on Wikipedia I didn't even know that much about where I can find Planner:) Pm expert (talk) 14:11, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am removing "dated prod" template. The above links give enough information on P2ware Planner and its notability. I informed the admin that added the template. Pm expert (talk) 08:41, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
