Edits & copy paste

edit

hi

I had a quick look, and ran the automated tools on the article.

My only real concern is one sentence that pushes over my preferred level of copypaste/copyvio. The tool returns 6.5% for the sentence "The company expanded its operations to China in 2018.", and is copypasted from the article "The company expanded its operations to China in 2018." While it is not a copyvio, I do think that having a sentence (and it is a complete sentence) directly copied and pasted requires a rewrite of that sentence.

Similarly, one ref was not completed, which I have corrected. There are, however, a few worrying details. For example: The source says "Plus expects to have its automated driving system deployed on “tens of thousands” of trucks across the U.S., China, and Europe in the next few years." The article says "It carries out testing of trucks in the U.S., China, and Europe."

I would need to spend a lot of time checking the refs against the article, as it does appear that the wording has been changed significantly and enough to warrant a "not supported by ref" tag, which is de rigeur for a new article. One of those tags would not prevent me from approving it, but it does suggest that the article needs a lot more vetting. Chaosdruid (talk) 21:40, 12 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Apologies, the Reuters article was only showing the first paragraph due to "you need to join this site" issues. I have now joined, and can see the sentence you are talking about. Chaosdruid (talk) 04:45, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi again, I will try and look at this at the weekend, but I have just done some basic copyedits, and hope you can see why I changed them. If not, ping me and I can explainfurther :¬) Chaosdruid (talk) 05:45, 17 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, User:Chaosdruid, your feedback and edits have been so helpful. The explanation about your most recent edits made sense to me. I'll hold tight for your thoughts, as it looks like you weren't able to get to this yet over the weekend. The quotes in the citations should help with checking the information. Hope you're feeling better User:Chaosdruid! If you're up for it, would you be so kind as to look over the draft? With gratitude, PlusJoc (talk) 08:52, 17 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Apologies. Illness, computer explosions, new power supplies and motherboards, more illness, Christmas, flooding and finally Covid have made things a little impossible for the last 6 weeks.
I am over Covid now, sort of, so will endeavour to get around to it in the next week or so. :¬) Chaosdruid (talk) 06:02, 16 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

That sounds like quite a tough way to end 2021. Here's to hoping 2022 is far better all around. Thanks in advance for taking a look again User:Chaosdruid! Regards, PlusJoc (talk) 22:48, 18 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi - Apologies, I had an extended bout of sickness after the Covid, so am only just returning to normal
Did you still need assitance with the article? Chaosdruid (talk) 19:17, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Glad to hear that you feel better User:Chaosdruid! I'm all set with the draft — an editor recently reviewed and accepted it. If you wouldn't mind, I do have a follow-up request to add the company's logo and add a link to the new page on two pages where Plus is already mentioned. Appreciate it if you could help with that. My request is on Talk:Plus (company) With gratitude, PlusJoc (talk) 23:00, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
