Please do not interfere with the AfD process. This includes removing Article for Deletion notices and tampering with AfD votes. If you continue to do so you may be blocked. If you disagree with the proposed deletion of the Modojo article, please discuss it on the article's articles for deletion page instead. Thanks, - Mysekurity e-mail 05:30, 3 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

P.S. I'd want my favorite site to be featured here too (and Wikipedia:it is ;) ), but according to our guidelines, a page that has been deleted may not be recreated unless you bring it up at Votes for Undeletion (which I highly reccommend you do). Please do not remove the Speedy tag again, and you're more than welcome to re-write the article once it has gained the notability standards of our guidelines. Please understand that those guidelines are there for a reason, and have served us well in the past. Feel free to contribute positively to any other article you see fit. After all, this is a wiki! Thanks, Mysekurity e-mail 05:30, 3 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

re: Modojo

edit

Hey man, sorry for removing the Article for Deletion notice on the Modojo. I misread what is said, thinking I could get rid of it as long as I didn't create the page. Thanks for all your help though on how to get us a legit page. plucas 05:36, 3 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

No problem. It's what I (and the thousands of others like me) do :). We work around the clock to make sure that our favorite encyclopedia stays clean and free of vandalism. Please do not misunderstand me; I've never been to Modojo, though it seems like an interesting site, but on Wikipedia, we mostly document things that are already notable by our standards, such as Google, Yahoo!, and others, and try to keep a lid on the things that have not yet recieved the notability required. The reasons we do this are twofold; 1) to keep Wikipedia as encyclpedic as possible, 2) to keep a website from gaining popularity by having its members put links on our pages. I can tell you're a reasonable editor, and I think you'd be great to have around Wikipedia, but unfortunately, if you want to have your article, you need to play by the rules. To undelete something, request it at WP:VfU, and see the community consensus on that matter. Otherwise, the article will be speedy deleted, and you will never see your hard work again. If you want to keep a copy of this article, you may "userfy" it: put it in a subpage of your user page, like so: User:Plucas/Modojo. That way, you are not in violation of any guidelines. You, along with several other editors, may work on the article until the site has been deemed notable, at which point it may be re-entered into the article namespace. I promise if you write a well-written article, with well researched and sourced interesting facts and a neutral point of view, you will be allowed to have the article, provided it is kept in good shape. Good luck with your endevours, Mysekurity e-mail 12:16, 3 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

It is Thanksgiving in the US, so thank you!

Two editors collaborating on an article

I am just a regular editor and nothing official like an administrator or Wikimedia contractor...I am an editor probably a lot like yourself. One important thing for me is to express thanks to other editors in a personal message to their talk page. This is not a template. I am just leaving this note for you to express my appreciation for your recent participation in voting for Arbatration Committee Members. Your vote is a great thing and with as many people participating as possible there is an excellent chance that we will have good representation on this committee. The Very Best of Regards,
