Great, works nicely in OSX Safari! Any chance to make it work on Wikibooks too? Thanks --Chockyegg (talk) 00:23, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

show when moving the mouse to the left edit

I made it so that the menu shows up when you move your mouse to the left side of the page.--Vera (talk) 19:04, 18 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please change name to "Show-hide Vector sidebar" edit

Thanks for this script. I suggest changing the name to "Show-hide Vector sidebar". More people will likely use it. I believe most people want a way to instantly toggle the sidebar, and not just permanently hide it. They might be confused by the current title of "Hide Vector sidebar".

See also the discussion at MediaWiki talk:Sidebar. The section currently titled "Proposal: Ability to hide the Sidebar". --Timeshifter (talk) 09:29, 2 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Does not remember setting edit

When I toggle open the sidebar, the sidebar does not remain open in subsequent pages I open. --Timeshifter (talk) 12:54, 18 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Flash of unstyled content solution edit

The flash of the sidebar was annoying. Plus, sometimes the page would not land on the proper paragraph (the part of the link after #). I solved this by hiding the sidebar always with css, and then showing the sidebar when the mouse hovers next to the left border of the page. However, this hardcodes the values for the sidebar width both in the code (User:Skarmenadius/vector.js ) and the css ( User:Skarmenadius/vector.css ). Both the hover and the css ideas came from others. Skarmenadius (talk) 11:33, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
