HMS M30

edit

Hi. I guess the title "HMS 30" of your article was a mistake? I have "moved" it (changed its title) to HMS M30, and will sort out any links which went to "HMS 30". Regards, JohnCD (talk) 12:18, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi John. Correct. You were nanoseconds ahead of me as I went to rename it! Regards Paul.Pkoz (talk) 12:22, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Can you help

edit

Hi, I'm writing an article on the Australian Wallaby captain Vay Wilson. My reliable source says He joined the British Navy during the war and was awarded the DSC for his action in the English Channel in a PT boat. I'm gathering from the links to boat classes that PT boats were just in the US Navy. Did the Royal Navy have them too in WWII ? -Sticks66

Hi, The Royal Navy Coastal Forces built and used similar craft and referred to them as Motor Torpedo Boats or MTBs. Several PT boats were also transferred to the RN under Lend-Lease including MTB 269-274 (ex PT 10-19), MTB 307-326 (ex PT 49-68) MTB 419-423 (ex PT 88, 90, 92, 94), mostly prior to completion. Similar vessels were also designated Motor Gun Boats (MGBs). As he won the DSC, he was obviously an officer. You might be able to locate the citation details through the National Archives in the UK. SS Königin Luise (1896)

Nice article! There is a way of creating a more compact infobox when a ship has been through multiple names and owners. See HMS Archer (D78) for an example. Mjroots (talk) 13:36, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
