LGBT Istanbul
editAdvice on neutral point of view
editI have been looking at your sandboxes, where you have written about "LGBT culture of Istanbul". I get the clear impression that this is a topic on which you have strong views. Wikipedia content has to be written from a neutral point of view, and a reader should not be able to tell what opinion, if any, the writer has of the subject he or she has written about. For example, "Istanbul is a highly heterosexist environment" is a statement of a point of view, and many people would disagree with it, indeed it is difficult to imagine a context in which the word "heterosexist" might be used without implying such a point of view. I am not expressing any personal opinion one way or the other about the point of view you express, nor am I trying to discourage you from continuing to write on the subject, but rather trying to help you understand that for Wikipedia you need to write in a way that does not support a particular point of view, no matter how strongly you believe that it is the right point of view.
