Copyright edit

Hi - I received a copyright/plagiarism notification concerning the article Lindisfarne Gospels. What looks to have happened is that you used an especially large quote from an external, copyrighted source, which set off the notification system. On Wikipedia we can only have fairly small quotes that are under a sentence in length and even then we should only use them in very specific situations when writing the content in our own words wouldn't suffice, such as quoting an opinion. Sometimes, rarely, we can have larger quotes, but those are usually in relation to something especially major and are stated by a fairly notable person/organization, such as the President of a country or the Supreme Court. I've removed the content from the article and I'd like for you to write the material in your own words.

I would also like for you to go over the plagiarism and copyright module before progressing further, thanks. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:04, 20 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
