Ranga P. Dias edit

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. Referring to this edit of mine, English Wikipedia follows a Manual of Style in articles. Here are some tips for you:

  1. Normally we refer to the subject of a biography by their surname.
  2. We use straight quotes instead of curly quotes.
  3. We use logical quotes. If a quoted fragment is not a full sentence, punctuation should go after a quotation mark.
  4. Although the MoS doesn't forbid using leading (or trailing) ellipses, there's no point using them as in most cases it's obvious we're not quoting the full text.
  5. We normally use "said" instead of "claim" and "clarified". A notable exception could be when "claim" is also prominently used by reliable sources.
  6. You shouldn't mark edits as "minor" edits unless they really are minor.

With regards to this, I'm not saying that at all, but "controversial" is a value-laden description that has no place in short description. Anyone can become controversial in a minute. If there are Wikipedia articles for more than one Sri Lankan physicists who are considered "controversial", we should find other ways to disambiguate the targets.
