Happy holidays

  The Invisible Barnstar
I feel this as most appropriate Barn star, besides being a tireless contributor, for another quiet-modest enormous contribution of fine yearly articles.

May you enjoy the holidays and may all your wishes come true.

אומנות (talk) 20:22, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

Thank you, happy holidays to you as well. Pickette (talk) 05:34, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
Thank you, also want to tell you I have worked on creating a new article for Israel as there is already some "meat" with sourced content for a selection progress that started weeks ago and the country's unique advanced-placement at the 2nd semi. Other than that, I kept the frames of the other yearly articles. Just wanted to share if you will be interested to take a look and find something to improve after your holiday/s rest. :) אומנות (talk) 03:28, 25 December 2015 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Marcel Bezençon Awards into Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. --Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 01:51, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

@Diannaa:, it wasn't copied from there so there is no reason to attribute. The section I have there is sourced to an article where that information came from. Thank you. Pickette (talk) 02:13, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Lithuania

Hi there @Pickette, I just wanted to let you know that some information on this year's national selection in Lithuania is wrong! LRT colleagues have asked me if there a way to fix this. For example, the final is not scheduled for February 2016. It is actually set for March 12. Let me know if you need any assistance with this. Best, J.

@Juliusisaacon:, if that is the case, LRT should publish an article that reliably communicates that information so it can be added and cited to the articles. Pickette (talk) 21:01, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Serbian artist

Why did you change the information I've added? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.64.45.36 (talk) 16:35, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

You've added no source for your information. Plus, the Serbian artist is not confirmed. Pickette (talk) 16:37, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

UK draw

Do you have a source for this? Thanks, Fort esc (talk) 20:41, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Yup, the Eurovision.tv source presents them as "Song #: Song Title" in that light blue section near the end of the article. Take a look here: [1]. If you're in doubt then feel free to remove it. Pickette (talk) 21:42, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
Of course! Knew i shouldn't have doubted you.. keep up the good work it doesn't go unnoticed :) Fort esc (talk) 22:59, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
Thank you. :) Pickette (talk) 00:29, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

Two small things in regards to yearly countries articles

Hi, first I wanted to check with you the line of the "Before Eurovision" sections editing. At France-2016 "Before Eurovision" I edited to open with who was eventually chosen (followed by the earlier organization detailing), from thinking about companion articles with internal selections as Croatia-2016 which also start the "Before Eurovision" with who was chosen. However, you changed back in France to start with their internal-method intention announcement from 2015 and I noticed that on Netherlands 2016 and some other 2016 internal-selection countries for example, it also starts with when they announced their internal selection intention (while at the continuation climaxing to the representative detail). So, do you follow keeping representative-detail as openers to "Before" in countries as Croatia as they simply announced the representative - without prior intention announcements (although it continues with other organization details)? And countries as France and Netherlands to open with early internal intention-announcements?
Another thing, I described on the lead of Israel's article the broadcasting replacement from IBA to IBC, and while I know you elaborated this article and that IBC isn't yet in the picture, since it's already known to take charge on Israel's participation and will, it should be incorporated in the lead as well. I'm just not sure where it's best and wanted to advice with you and see where you stand. Thanks for the attention. אומנות (talk) 17:16, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
For the French article, I had to edit it because you left the second part of that internal selection section outdated. I considered arranging it the way you have suggested above but I find that it's better for it to flow chronologically. The reason the other articles are different is because they start with the broadcaster announcing the entry whereas France had a whole process detailing the selection of their entry prior to their announcement. You could reverse the paragraphs if you prefer.
About the Israeli article, I agree that IBC should be mentioned. I'll probably do it once it actually happens. Do you know what date IBA will shutdown and IBC will begin to function? Pickette (talk) 17:36, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
Yea, I just meant to edit the chosen representation line at the time as in cases of high editing activity it's easier to make smaller gradual edits, and just wanted to advice this one-liner arranging, regardless of the other organizational details. I was aware however for the March 12th song performance-plan but figured it still holds as a live premiere, aside the media publication. Now I am getting deep to this and of course great you keep updating the articles regardless and in general. :) So it's as I thought with immediate announcements being openers to "Before" with detailing about the already known singer+song organization thereafter. Also, national selections articles (as Germany) are tightly chronologically shaped from early intentions to final public-contest winner while France is still internal but more earlier-details containing as you said. So not sure then, I will leave it as is but thanks for the openness about shifting the paragraphs.
I looked online in regards to IBC and found sources just from days ago: now IBA was supposed to close this March 31st with IBC opening on April 1st [2], now getting postponed (for the 2nd time at least) - with gradual function shifting between the 2 bodies in parallel to more ongoing government legislation reforms - until determined shift in March 2017... Apparently, IBC mention should now be re-worded on Israel's 2016 article as along the lines of this situation mention at the previous 2015 Israel article. So now you are right it may be best to wait or if you wish and can already have a place to shape and squeeze with this given source in the article, then great.
Sorry for the complications but in any case it's always nice talking with you. Also sorry for the late response, I wrote you yesterday before I was leaving on the way to do something on Wikimedia offices and saw your reply from the mobile on the way and was home only late-night (it was quite a whole Wikipedia-related day for me yesterday). :) אומנות (talk) 11:05, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
I'm okay with any changes you want to make to the French article. There is no set way in writing these articles. A lot of times for internal selections, I use Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 and Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 as guides on how to cover the information. As for Israel, I'll take a look at that source and find the best way to cover the IBC situation in the wiki article. It looks like it might not even happen during their ESC participation this year. Pickette (talk) 12:14, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Yes, though I was wondering about more consistent options just for this line-info, I see its varied status may be best to be flexibly put across the articles. I remember the two above mentioned after Sims2aholic8 styling work and that you also said you rely on them. Thank you as well for willing to take a look on IBC, especially as you may edit it best along with your elaborations work. I was happy to find the closing dates on the sources to provide for you but immediately on this recent approaching-deadline Israeli sources saw it's ongoing legislation reforms. Hope the source still comes useful. אומנות (talk) 13:32, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Can you tell me what this article says: [3]? Is it about how the voting will be conducted in the final? Please let me know if possible so I can add the info to the Israeli article. Pickette (talk) 14:45, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Yea sure, in general only the viewers decide via registration to an app on Mako - channel 2-Keshet company website. As I see, the app is the only way to vote (as was during this reality previous shows). I will even translate part of the text for you:
"You decide, this is how you will vote for your contender.... The competition goes up a phase and very soon one of the contenders will be launched to Stockholm. Who is it going to be? At the big final, only you decide. And who knows? Maybe you won a trip for two to Zanzibar." (I'm already going to London at the end of May and hope Wikimania too, but won't mind this too... ;) ). "How does it work? All the details:"
"Phase one: Go to Mako's app."
"Phase two: Register already now and join the voting at the final event."
(after the 2 phases there are more details how to fill details in order to also attempt winning a tablet, but below it continues to clarify):
"Pay attention - you can only vote via Mako's app so download it already now to your smartphone...! The prizes raffle is handled by Keshet according to the laws of "X-institutions"...".
That's it overall.
אומנות (talk) 16:09, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Perfect, thank you. I'll add that the results will be decided only by app voting. Pickette (talk) 16:25, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Hope nothing is changed with the voting at the next days to not complicate things, anyway I think I recall the public always voted in this show's all seasons only by the app. Happy to help. אומנות (talk) 16:38, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

Talk About the 2016 Album Songs' Alleged Lengths

I just read your statement on why the reported song lengths have been found to be questionable. I highly agree with you for suggesting the temporary removal of all the song lengths on the article for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. We should wait until the official running times have been disclosed, whether the news comes from the EBU, avid listeners, or whomever. Thank you for consulting me about this! @SGriffin94: Thanks for your feedback. I mentioned it at the discussion on the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 talk page. Pickette (talk) 14:23, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

:)

I was wondering if you have any theories about what we can expect from the jury voting tonight considering the order in which the countries votes tonight. My theory is that at first some Western Country/Australia will take a lead and then by the end a Eastern Country, perhaps Russia will come back a bit at least.--BabbaQ (talk) 11:29, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

I'm really not sure what to expect. I definitely think at this point that it will be between Australia and Russia. It'll be interesting no doubt. Pickette (talk) 16:42, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

IP headache

Hi Pickette. Hope you are having a lovely day so far. Not sure if you've noticed but both you and I are being accused of "bullying" and "threatening behaviour" by our dear IP user at Talk:Eurovision Song Contest 2016. I'm on the verge of taking the matter over to ANI for admins to block them immediately. What's your view on this? Wes Mouse  16:31, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

Just ignore this IP user. He or she came back to the ESC 2016 talk page to update their original post and now claim that they provided accurate information (still without providing a reliable source). If they start harassing you outside of that talk page, then I'd consider taking further action if I were you. Pickette (talk) 16:41, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
They have continued to harass outside of that talk page by posting vile stuff on AxG's talk page about me. I've contacted an admin directly for them to step-in and take action. Wes Mouse  16:43, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
Oh I see. Yeah I think contacting an admin would be best. Pickette (talk) 16:45, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

2016 Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director Search Community Survey

The Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation has appointed a committee to lead the search for the foundation’s next Executive Director. One of our first tasks is to write the job description of the executive director position, and we are asking for input from the Wikimedia community. Please take a few minutes and complete this survey to help us better understand community and staff expectations for the Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director.

Tuna

I removed it because Tuna hasn't got songs in Macedonian language — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ngrica (talkcontribs) 01:17, 25 July 2016 (UTC)

Test on new table layout

I see you noticed that I have done a test on Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 to give an idea on how the proposed example would look live on an article. It seems to improve the flow. However, I'm still undecided on the Cyrillic script. Should we consider full removal or placing within {{H:title}}? Wes Mouse  T@lk 18:39, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

@Wesley Mouse: It doesn't seem very necessary for an English Wikipedia to include native scripts since English users will almost always be searching for the transliterated title. Including them within {{H:title}} should suffice I'd say. Pickette (talk) 02:09, 1 October 2016 (UTC)
We now have a test article on songwriters at User:Wesley Mouse/sandbox/12. Pleas when you have a spare moment, could you quickly glance over it, before I proceed with the page move and request an admin to do the HistMerge too. Thanks. Wes Mouse  T@lk 19:54, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
@Wesley Mouse: Looks great! Pickette (talk) 16:11, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

Reminder

I think that you've made a mistake. As you can see, the Netherlands became the 2nd defending runner-up to fail to qualify for the grand final, the first being Turkey in 2011. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RVFan1930 (talkcontribs) 15:23, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
