Round-robin

Hi Phyo WP, this is about a round-robin move you performed recently. FYI, see Talk:Thayetmyo. I made this redirect from the old page to the new ones for the sake of completeness to avoid breaking incoming talk page links to the old page. Jenks24 recently pinged me about this issue about not breaking incoming talk page links, and I thought I'd share this with you as well.

For example, if page A had a talk page, 3 archives, and a good article nomination, swapping A and its subpages with B without the talk/subpages will turn the former A 's pages into redlinks. I documented this at WP:PMVR#rr if it helps. Of course, these additional redirects to be created could also use good judgment, but a move without redirect suppression would produce them anyway. New section

Hi Ko Phyo, I made an edit to the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Myanmar page , it formally had the paragraph on Judaism in the intro, which makes little sense as further on there is no other mention of Judaism. I felt it best that it became it's own category in the body. However when I moved the text, it doesn't seem to create a new section in the chapter headings at the top, it gets slotted into a subsection of others. For example I want it to be 4. Hinduism 5. hmmm, I took that information from the Burmese_folk_religion page which says "The king came to the realisation that he couldn’t possibly stop these nats from being worshiped, so he created a formal list of 37, strategically renaming the head one, Thagyamin, which was a name of Buddhist origin." This is cited as Rodrigue, Yves (1992). Nat-Pwe: Burma's supernatural sub-culture. Gartmore: Kiscadale. pp. 19–20. I don't have the book so can't confirm. Wikiproject Myanmar English

English is a global language and thus belongs to all those who speak it. Myanmar speakers of English should thus be able to contribute to the English Language too, as many other cultures around the world have done. One thing I've noticed here is that certain Myanmar related articles are being renamed into clunky English terms. People in Myanmar who speak English still use terms such as Hluttaw for example, but these pages redirect. For example Pyidaungsu Hluttaw redirects to Assembly of the Union. I'd like to start seeing the common use of these terms in this encylopedia. Everyone who speaks English in Myanmar knows and uses the term Hluttaw, so why should rely on US or UK to tell us what the English language is in Myanmar? I'd like to propose that these articles be reverted back to their common English usage of "Hluttaw" What are your thoughts on this? Egaoblai (talk) 12:50, 3 June 2017 (UTC)

@Brittney Tun:, thanks for your contributions. You can upload photos to Commons with {{Template:PD-Myanmar}} for a photograph copyright has expired if 50 years have passed since it was first taken. It is OK to add colonial era photos using that template. Please read Commons:Category:PD-Myanmar and Commons:Commons:Copyright rules by territory for more information.

IMO, you should add infoboxes in your articles to identify key facts at a glance. Most people will read only lead section and infobox. ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Phyo WP. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

• Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!

Outreach and Invitations:

• If you know other editors with a good understanding of Wikipedia policy, invite them to join NPP by dropping the invitation template on their talk page with: {{subst:NPR invite}}. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.

New Year New Page Review Drive

• A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
• Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

General project update:

• ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
• The NPP Browser can help you quickly find articles with topics that you prefer to review from within the backlog.

New Years new page backlog drive

Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!

We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!

The backlog drive will begin on January 1^st and run until January 29^th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.

Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:

• The total number of reviews completed for the month.
• The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.

NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
