  Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to John Templeton Foundation, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. I don't understand why you think my editing was not constructive? My editing includes more factual information noted with sources. On a second thought, this subsection seems out of place, as "Fenggang Yang and Center on Religion and Chinese Society of Purdue University" is not comparable to "Pew Research Center" because the the former is part of a university. There are similar centers of universities listed in the later subsection "Other recipients of funding". Therefore, the subsection "Fenggang Yang and Center on Religion and Chinese Society of Purdue University" should be deleted and add "Fenggang Yang" in the list of "Other recipients of funding".   Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to John Templeton Foundation. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 22:02, 3 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

You currently appear to be engaged in edit wars according to the reverts you have made on John Templeton Foundation and Fenggang Yang. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Phoenixhill. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

Fenggang Yang, please read the Wikipedia policy about conflicts of interest. Stop with self-promotion of yourself, removal of academic criticism, and allegation that academics who are critic of your theories and claims are "Communists".--Amorphophallus Titanum (talk) 21:27, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Further edit-warring

edit

If you continue to edit-war on articles where you appear to have a conflict of interest you will be reported to the administrators' edit-war notice board, and probably an administrator will block you from editing. Breaking sticks (talk) 21:51, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Fenggang Yang, you may be blocked from editing. bonadea contributions talk 05:42, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring, personal attacks, and other disruptive editing. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
