The article you mentioned on my talk page has a few statements I disagree with, and many things that are already in the article. Tesla was certainly a genius and made major contributions, especially with induction motors and polyphase electricity. Tesla did not "invent alternating current." It was already in wide use before he ever joined with Westinghouse in promoting Tesla's induction motor. I have not heard of him inventing the loudspeaker before, and that claim should be checked. Tesla's 1919 claim that Edison promised him $50,000 to "completely redesign the Edison Company's direct current generators" is unsupported by anything other than Tesla's statement in 1919, and there are thousands of pages of detailed records on everything that went on in the Edison company in the 1880's. I know of no paperwork from the 1880's in support of it. Tesla never published any detailed account of what his improvements were supposed to have been. Tesla made $25 a week and his supervisor said he was not worth more than that. The amount is really unlikely, since there is no evidence the motors or generators underwent any big improvement while Tesla worked for Edison. The real cheating of Tesla was by Westinghouse and his company, since Westinghouse talked Tesla into signing over all his patents, worth $12 million, then in Tesla's old age only gave him a "gift" of $300 a month so he had a place to stay. Other former Westinghouse workers were given far more. The "war of the currents" did not result in Edison and Westinghouse "almost going bankrupt." There were financial panics in the 1890's worse than the present one. Tesla was the one who went bankrupt, since no investors believed he had valuable work to offer after about 1915. Tesla and Edison were not in the running nor considered for Nobel prizes in 1915.There was just a press report from a London paper which got several nominations wrong. It is not true that Tesla hated Edison. When Tesla's lab burned in the 1890's Edison loaned him workspace at his lab. Tesla had praise for Edison later.
