Edits edit

Please have a look at Wikipedia:How to edit a page. Wikilinks (internal links) are simply made by embracing the term with [[square brackets]], rather than with the full URL. JFW | T@lk 08:17, 8 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Re. in the Dermatology page, changing "tumors" to "surgical treatment of skin cancer" : there are many ways to treat skin tumours: surgery, cryotherapy, laser, topical or intralesional antineoplastic drugs, etc. All these treatments are administered by dermatologists. I suggest you revert back to a more general statement. You may wish to mention your dermasurgery page in this paragraph as one of the many treatment modalities. Other than that, we all appreciate your contributions. Make sure to watch regularly a handful of pages in your area of expertise. Have a look at Help:Watching pages and Help:Recent changes. Emmanuelm 15:48, 20 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Doctors edit

Hi Phil, thanks for your dermatology-related contributions. We could actually do with a lot of help on pages like eczema and psoriasis, both very common and presently in a fairly poor state. Most doctors on Wikipedia are internists, and we've had an orthopod around a few weeks ago. Could you drop by WikiProject Clinical medicine and see if you would be interested to join? Edits to Battery (electrical) edit

Hi Philip, Sorry your edits to the article on batteries was reverted, I'm sure it was an honest attempt to add relavent content to wikipedia, but the phrase "burrito battery" seems to be something recently invented and not widely used ( a neologism ) and they're not normally allowed on wikipedia because they're almost impossible to properly verify Astaroth5 23:21, 10 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Plantar wart edit

Could have a peek at this one please? There's a strong statement "The only known cure is the injection of local anaesthetic" which is unreferenced and which I can't see recommended elsewhere on the 'net - yet I'm loath to remove as it's not clearly a quack one - maybe correct, just very recent. Mohs Questions and Med School Advice edit

Hi, I am still a little confused having read over the Mohs entry for Wikipedia. It sounds like Mohs surgery is about cutting away the minimal amount of tissue while removing the cancer cells and ending up with clean margins. However, in reading about it on the Mohs website, it talks about Zinc Chloride, fixing and freezing. What is this all about? I saw that you authored this entry and was wondering if you could add anything else about your experience with Mohs surgery - pictures perhaps? On an unrelated note, as a rising first year med student, do you have any advice you would be willing to share? thanks!

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
