We're quick around here. :-) You've got 2 replies at Wikipedia_talk:Policies_and_guidelines#Separating_verses_of_poems_and_songs --Kim Bruning (talk) 16:41, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Moving pages edit

If you write an article then move to mainspace, it might avoid redirect problems if you create it in a sandbox, or at least if you don't also move the talk page. When you moved William F. Kirk you also moved your own talk page by accident. KillerChihuahua?!? 17:08, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Gustaf Fröding edit

The Gustaf Fröding article contains poetry. The verses are separated by a break. SmackBot eliminates those breaks, which gives the article a poor appearance and makes it harder to read. Would it be possible to leave the breaks in? Paul Anderson Pfa (talk) 21:44, 15 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Question about Ernest and Clarence Iverson edit

{{helpme}}Hello. I am pretty new to this, so I may be doing this wrong. Please forgive me. I think, though I may be incorrect, that you provided a lot of the information to the Ernest and Clarence Iverson article. If so, I'd love to know where you found some of the information, especially the parts about the four recordings that were released containing on-air performances, and the 2006 Rocking Chair Radio release. I am really desperate to learn more about them and to own them, if possible. I would love to know where to find these recordings and also learn more about the Iversons. Thanks for your time! Yutenite (talk) 03:05, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hiya Yutenite. Well you're right that you're doing it wrong, but doing things wrong but in good faith is something you don't need to apologize for. The helpme template is for your own talk page, and calls people to it who monitor a category for it. It has no value in calling a particular user on their talk page. The best way to do that is to simply post a message to their talk page, as you have. They will then get a "you have new messages" bar across the top of the screen in bright orange the next time they log on. You have never gotten that message bar yet, because no one has ever edited your talk page. I am about to, just so you can experience it. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 03:12, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

The article has links for downloading numerous photos of the Iversons and mp3 files for two of their recordings. The Cylinder Preservation link has free mp3 downloads of other artists doing songs from the Iversons' repertoire. Likewise there is sheet music for two of their songs. The book A PASSION FOR POLKA is available — used and new — from Amazon. You could also probably get it through your library or an inter-library loan. At this very moment eBay is selling two copies of the LP "Slim Jim Sings Nikolina And Other Favorites". You might be able to get the "Slim Jim: Rocking Chair Memories" CD from Ingebretsen's Scandinavian Gifts in Minneapols. They used to carry it. You can contact them through their website. The Iversons' three songbooks from the 1930s are at the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul. Pfa (talk) 03:56, 3 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:William F. Kirk.jpg edit

Speedy deletion nomination of File:William F. Kirk.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:William F. Kirk.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the file is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
