"minor" edits edit

Hi Petedavo.

I was looking at the edit history for Beckenham, Western Australia, and I noticed that you marked one of your edits as minor that I thought was a bit more than a minor edit, as described in Help:Minor edit.

I can see that you've beem on wikipedia about as long as I have... I don't claim to be any kind of expert on this. Leave a message on my talk page to let me know what you think about it. Maybe we could ask a more experienced editor for their opinion on the etiquette for marking edits as minor.

Anyway, good to see you're working hard to improve Wikipedia. See you 'round. - DonkeyKong64 (Mathematician in training) 09:35, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yep your right (looking at the def). Was done donkeys ago when I considered a sentence to be minor and a paragraph to be minor + LOL. petedavo 11:29, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wattle Grove edit

I've done some tidying up and expansion on my suburb. I need someone to tell me to stop before I go overboard (probably already have), or chew up my holidays wasting time editing wikipedia, or fail to get my yard tidied up before Xmas. So if anyone knows anything of this area and says that they reckon it's done to death, that'll be good enough for me.petedavo (talk) 02:20, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

sig edit

Is your new sig an reference to the rainbow flag and thus an expression of gay pride? You don't have to answer that question; it's none of my business. But if it isn't, then I thought you would want to know that some (most?) of us will jump to that conclusion. Hesperian 04:11, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Crikey, I'm too old for that, and obviously too old to of thought of it. Puts a new meaning to being an old bugger! Just saw a cool looking sig and tried to copy the code. but it doesn't work when I bunged it into Preferences. so I better fix it for two reasons now. Thanks (I think).petedavo|talk 21:01, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Template:Clans of Scotland requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. Speedy deletion of Australian Fast Foods Pty Limited edit

A tag has been placed on Australian Fast Foods Pty Limited requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mayalld (talk) 14:19, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Can you help? edit

The article Burger King legal issues is undergoing a featured article review and I would like some assistance in insuring the Burger King Corporation v. Hungry Jack's Pty Limited ([2001] NSWCA 187) is properly cited and factually correct. Searching through the WP:AUSLAW project I came across your page.

Your user page says you reside in Perth, so this might just be up your alley. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

The FAC discussion is here

You might want to look at a couple of other articles related to the subject I created:

Burger King legal issues edit

Hi,

I was just wondering, did I resolve all of the issues you raised in the FAC? Could you please respond at the peer review I set up.

Thank you for your time,

Hello again, could you please respond as to whether I resolved the issues you had during the FAC review for this article? I need to know so I can move forward with the peer review and a second FAC nom. Please respond on the PR page.
Thanks again,

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice edit

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Wikipedia:How to edit a page edit

I'm referring to this diff: [1]

Where did you get this idea? It seems to be demonstrably false. — Werdna • talk 14:47, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Simply put, if you put a space at the beginning of a line it will and does alter the formatting for the whole page and makes the page unreadable in IE7. It puts the line with the space into a block, but that block does not word wrap and it thus makes the entire page as wide as the line!, thus rendering the page to become as wide as the line in that block. It's quite horrible to look at and there are far more easier on the eye ways to highlight a bit of text. Petedavo talk contributions 23:59, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's what <pre> is supposed to do! The <pre> tag is designed to allow you to break your own lines, it's not supposed to be used for highlighting text! See [2]. — Werdna • talk 05:41, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's exactly my point! Petedavo talk contributions 10:56, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
