I was doing research on this liqueur by virtue of being a beverage management lecturer. I visited the website of Izarra liqueur which is located here http://www.izarra.fr/verte-et-jaune.php Here the company writes that 16 herbs and spices are used in the green version and 13 in the yellow version. The figures stated in the wikipedia stub seem overstated in comparison. Further, the bottles shown in the image (also on the same page) show the alcoholic strength as 40% abv for both versions and there is no mention of saffron being used to color the yellow versions.
I have authoritative books on this at home at they too concur with wikipedia (more or less) about 48 herbs and spices and that the green version contains more alcohol by volume - so i am now more confused by all this
