Alex Lufraglia-Vanzetti (born November 15, 1985 in Northampton, East Midlands) is an Anglo-Italian football player who currently plays for Heyford Athletic of the Northants Combination Premier Division but will join Penzance AFC on 28th February 2008. He plays as a forward but can also fill in the role of right-back or right winger.
Lufraglia has played for numerous English non-league sides as well as professionally with Rushden & Diamonds in the Football League Two or third division as it was known at the time. Lufraglia spent a year in the Northern Mariana's playing for Red Rocks Saipan for unknown reasons.
International Career edit
Lufraglia's international career remains shrouded in mystery. There is some speculation that he represented the Northern Mariana's national football team in an East Asian Cup 2008 match against Guam with his name appearing on some team sheets and not others. This is also thrown into doubt by the fact that he was with an English club at the time of the match. There are also doubts surrounding his nationality and whether he would be eligible to play for the team. His darker skin colour suggests he is of Melanesian rather than Polynesian heritage.
