If you're interested in contributing regularly to Penwith articles (your name suggests that you might be!), then some of us have set up a wikiproject here at Wikipedia:WikiProject geography of Penwith, Cornwall to try and organise our efforts. Penwith articles seem to be a bit neglected at wikipedia, so we set this up to try and rectify things! Hope to see you again Mammal4 16:00, 17 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Madron

edit

If you have information on these topics it would be great if wecould add them to the Madron page. if there is a lot of information then we tend to make a summary on the parish page, and then link out to a page just on that topic. i see that somebody has already started articles on Lanyon Quoit, Chûn Quoit, Chysauster. The establishment of the church is probably best tackled as a sub heading of history, as i have done at St Buryan. The Madron Feast information could go under a section by itself (local festivals?) as reedgunner has done at Penzance. Let me know what you think ;) Mammal4 13:34, 12 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

No problem, I'll leave the Iron-Age to the expertsPenwith61
Thanks for tidying the bells up. I got the numbering system OK, but not the table Penwith61 15:02, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
No problem - the formatting on tables can be a bit tricky. If you want a tutorial on tables there is one here, if you have any problems just leave me a message on my User talk page(It is generally customary to reply to messages left on your talk page on the other users talk page) I've also dug out a quick guide to wikipedia formatting which you might find useful here. If you want to try things out or draft things then the best place to do that is in a sandbox, which is a page in your own userspace a bit like a jotter. I've created one for you here at User:Penwith61/sandboxif you want to play. Any questions just ask! Mammal4 20:27, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
PS: You might want to add something to your User front page User:Penwith61 to let people know what you're about. It can be pretty anonymous if you want it to like mine or you can put more about yourself if you want. This helps give your edits more credibility is you come into conflict with another editor (there are a lot of awkward dickheads that edit Wkipedia!) so that they can see you are a) serious b) know what you're talking about c) aren't a vandle Mammal4

Userboxes

edit

Here is a link to a page with user boxes which are a quick way of descibing yourself, like this one:

This user is interested in astronomy.

There are categories like language, education, political beliefs etc on this page, so just scroll down and pick out the ones that you might want to use. To insert them into your user page, just use the template on the lefthand side, which is a short code between two curly brackets like this:

"{{User Astronomy}}"

Have fun! Mammal4 08:11, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Someone must have been lazy, as you have not been welcomed yet. Thank you for your contributions. Since you have been here for a while, we can pretty much assume you are not a troll, vandal, or clueless newbie. I hope you continue to like the place and don't get all grumpy and leave over nothing. Here are a few good links for newcomers, even though you aren't one:

I hope you still enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian, and won't get mad over something stupid and leave! By the way, please be sure to continue to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome, and sorry for your not being welcomed in the past!Benon 07:12, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Aerial1930.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 04:56, 19 February 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 04:56, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
