National Research Council edit

Your major reorganization of the Michigan page is quite nice. However, I'm wondering if you completely removed the reference to the National Research Council rankings of the graduate disciplines? It is my belief that that ranking is informative and adds value to the description of the University's academic stature. Might you replace that reference? Thanks in advance. 74.66.233.244 (talk) 19:16, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rocky Mountain Field Station edit

I've added a section for this facility, but wonder more generally why there isn't a separate section for facilities which are not part of the campus proper but related to the teaching mission. Included in such a page or set of linked pages or categories would be, for example: Rocky Mountain, Peach Mountain, the Arb, Matthei (sp?) and all of the other facilities that relate to botany and sustainable development. Such an addition would be a worthy one and lend structure to the article.

Someone put in a stub for the pharmacy school, and I've fleshed it out a bit with some cobbled together material. It would be interesting to see some of the other undocumented schools added. I also continue to believe that the LS&A page is a pretty weak specimen given the size, headcount and nominal importance of the undergraduate division. 98.14.129.101 (talk) 15:35, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Pentawing. At the bottom of this review a last list of sourcing concerns was posted. If you can take care of that we can move it off the page. Cheers, Marskell (talk) 15:56, 26 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

FA Help edit

Hi, would you be able to help me with the history section of Davenport, Iowa? A reviewer from the last FAC said it needs a good copyedit and has a "factoid" effect. Thank you, CTJF83 chat 05:30, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:ProvidenceRI seal.png edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:ProvidenceRI seal.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  — master sonT - C 16:31, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

1997 Michigan Wolverines football team edit

I am contacting you based on your extensive involvment in Michigan Wolverines. I have beefed up 1997 Michigan Wolverines football team. It could use some feedback at Wikipedia:Peer review/1997 Michigan Wolverines football team/archive1‎. Also, I had trouble finding game details for the Little Brown Jug game. I hope to take this to WP:FAC so if you get a chance this is one of the more important articles that you might be able to help out.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 15:16, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

recent edits to UM article edit

Thanks for the edits. Please take a look at these figures, which are very stale: "Each year, some 30,000 people apply for admission to the university; almost 42 percent are admitted and some 5,400 new students enroll.[93]" The current figures are more like: 42,000 applicants; 36%-37% admitted; not sure about enrollment. I'd make these changes but am unsure about how to upgrade footnotes. Might you take a look and make the changes? If yes, many thanks.207.237.138.219 (talk) 18:19, 6 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • I would suggest looking at Wikipedia:Citing sources and Template:Cite web for information for citation formats and how to use the footnotes respectively. As for the citations, I recommend that you obtain and list the following information: author's name (where available), title, url, publisher, date or year (usually through a listed publication or copyright date), and access date (the day which you accessed the source). That way if the source (particularly a web source) is out-of-date or no longer accessible, one can still find the source by the other listed information (which comes in handy at an Internet archives search). ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Orphaned non-free image File:ProvidenceRI seal.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:ProvidenceRI seal.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:07, 17 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:UM AA.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:UM AA.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 18 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
