Your Request for feedback on Still Pending (band) edit

Hi Stampsations. I just finished typing my reply to your Request for feedback on Still Pending (band), and then noticed that you've removed the entry, so I decided to post here, on your talk page. However, if you had a specific reason for removing your request and no longer want this information to appear, you have my permission to remove this post, at your leisure.

I usually tend to make smaller changes to improve existing articles and haven't submitted many new articles myself, so you're braver than I am! I know it can be intimidating creating a new article, but I think you've done a great job. The article layout looks good and your use of images has managed to enhance the article. The article is also nicely wikified already. I hope the following minor suggestions will be useful for improving the article even more:

  • To make the article's Lead section comply with the Manual of Style, I would consider removing the line break separating the first two sentences. In other words, make the first two sentences appear on one line only, instead of two.
  • The article is currently uncategorized. Consider adding it to one or more categories. This will make it easier for people to find articles related to a certain subject.
  • In the section headers, only the first word should be capitalized, unless it also contains proper nouns. So, for example, "National Exposure" should be changed to "National exposure". See WP:MOS#Wording for more detail.
  • It might be possible to introduce additional wikilinks to the article, but be sure not to overlink and that the links are relevant to the article. The external tool Can We Link It is useful for suggesting possible, additional wikilinks.
  • I noticed one small punctuation error at "having not yet decided on a name for the group. the band"—the full stop should be changed to a comma. It might be a good idea to copyedit the article in order to ensure there aren't any further typos or grammar errors.
  • Perhaps creating additional sections, telling a bit more about each of the band members, might be a good idea. You can then turn certain words in the article into wikilinks that jump directly to the relevant section on the same page; for example, a wikilink for each of the band members' names currently appearing in the Infobox, like so: [[Still Pending (band)#Ian Rogers (bass guitar)]].

I hope this has been of help! Feel free to reply here should you need any additional suggestions. —XhantarTalk 23:12, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

No problem! edit

And great work on the article. Wikipedia needs grammar nitpicks, but it needs real contributors like you even more.

re:Wikieditor07 edit

Yes, I do believe that action was a little bit of a misunderstanding. S/he requested more information about deletion on Wikipedia:Help_desk#blatant_advertising. I didn't know that s/he would try to get Still Pending deleted via WP:CSD. However, keep in mind that we should not bite the newcomers and that we must assume good faith. If this editor causes a disturbance, you can try the dispute resolution process; if the situation escalates into a much larger problem, then try requests for comment.--Ed ¿Cómo estás? 17:02, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Questions about images edit

I have a few questions regarding the images on Still Pending. Are Image:StillPending.jpg, Image:StillPendingCrystalPoster.jpg, Image:SP Crystal Ballroom.JPG, and Image:Still Pending Innocent Days 200.jpg your own personal property? Did you actually produce these images yourself? I just need to ask you this in order to make sure that you can license these under the public domain. You see, public domain licensing confirms that the uploader of the images forfeit all copyright and that Still Pending will not be able to receive any monetary gain from these images. If you didn't produce these images, you need to confirm that the person who did is allowing you to use them.--Ed ¿Cómo estás? 00:51, 4 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, it's fine. It seems to me that David Ellman has proprietary interest over the groups publicity (it also seems like he's related to Grant Ellman). If so, then I'm sure that he knows what he's doing, and that he has every right to publish these pictures under the public domain.--Ed ¿Cómo estás? 16:19, 4 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

My "Overturn" comment can mean many things. That's up to the closing admin to decide.--Ed ¿Cómo estás? 22:42, 19 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

The deletion of this was overturned. BuickCenturydriver (Honk, contribs) 00:39, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm confused about Still Pending AFD edit

Hi there. I'm looking back through the edits on the Still Pending article and it appears that you "resurrected" a historical AFD discussion that was subsequently overturned. I am somewhat of a newbie to all of this so please forgive my ignorance. The original AFD is here: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Still_Pending and when I view the history on the article, this is what appears as the edit you made. It looks like someone then came in and moved your nomination to a new location. Perhaps you were unaware of the overturn of the deletion that occurred? Can you please help me to understand what has happened. I did quite a bit of research and writing for this article and it apparently meets the notability criteria since the deletion was overturned. Thank you. Stampsations 01:18, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey Stampsations, I wish I was smart enough to resurrect anything! It seems that what happened is that the slight name change in the article did not reflect the previous Afd nomination and subsequence decision. When I nominated the new article and started the new discussion page an Administrator remembered the previous Afd and was able to pull the archives and place them on the new discussion page. Either way, it looks like a keeper, especially with the new sources added. Hope this explains a little bit if what went on here. Have a great day. Shoessss 13:32, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Would you mind adding your "official" Keep to the discussion? Also, you forgot to sign your entry on the discussion page. Thanks. Stampsations 18:24, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello Stampsations if you look on the article’s deletion discussion page at the bottom, you will notice that I have already added my comment regarding the situation. You may have just overlooked as it appears as a separate item. Once again good luck. If I can be of any help just ask. Shoessss 18:40, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Still_Pending_Innocent_Days.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Still_Pending_Innocent_Days.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
