Introduction
editThe purpose of this 'sandbox' user page is to enable me to develop new prose for existing articles in main space, without running the risk of interfering in any way with the original article, or causing edit conflicts there. It is a useful sandbox when drafting content for a new section, for example. When done, the new text can be copied into the article itself in one clean edit.
The optional "Editorial comments" section can be used as a notepad for reminders, or for suggestions between editors when working on a joint project.
Ernest Hemingway and the Arts
editMy drafting sandbox is currently being used for collecting material about Ernest Hemingway's interest in the Arts, in the following sections.
Draft prose on Ernest Hemingway and the Arts
editThe article on Ernest Hemingway is silent about his interest in the Arts. The present draft provides extensive prose on the subject, available towards either a separate article, or a least a new section in the main article. The idea was first discussed here.
Proposal for a new 'level2' section in the Ernest Hemingway article
edit- Note 1: The proposed new section would be titled Interest in the arts instead of Hemingway and the arts, because his surname is never used in the article's section headers, which feature mainly nouns: Life, Writing style, Themes and Influence and legacy.
- Note 2: This new section includes a 'level3' (===) subsection entitled Artworks owned. I avoided using the word collection in the section title, to save any possible confusion between his collection of artworks and the Ernest Hemingway Collection.
- Note 3: I am proposing to insert the new sections between the existing sections Themes and Influence and legacy.
- Note 4: The new sections would adhere to the citation style currently implemented in the main article.
Proposal for a separate article
edit- Note 1: If the final draft is deemed too long to fit within the main article, then it could be published in a separate article, under the title of Ernest Hemingway and the Arts.
- Note 2: A new article would use the same prose but implement the Harvard citation style with the use of {{sfn}} templates, following Brian Boulton's example in Australasian Antarctic Expedition.
