I wanted to let you know I deleted your article on the victoria society. You failed to establish notability of the organization to the standards of WP:ORG in any credible way. Essentially, you wrote an article about an organization that has no references to it and most of the article was 'we don't really know what they do!!!'. The only references you added supported your statements about the persons you mentioned, and those didn't support the organization. Syrthiss (talk) 12:08, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, unfortunately after extensive searching in libraries and online, I have only found very fleeting references to the organisation and nothing that would be worthy of a reference in my article. I did however, deem knowledge of the organisation a worthy goal in and of itself. I thus consider the deletion helpful, but improper. Pb352 (talk) 12:23, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Please see our guidelines on original research then. I'm sorry you feel my deletion was improper. Syrthiss (talk) 12:28, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ah! This would explain a lot. Thanks! I shall endeavour to find some more substantial references! Thanks again! Pb352 (talk) 12:39, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Not a problem, good luck in your search. :) Syrthiss (talk) 12:41, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of The Victoria Society edit

A tag has been placed on The Victoria Society requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 23:23, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Pb352, I was looking at the deleted article. Essentially, while the references for the trivia about the supposed members of the society seem ok at first glance (I didn't dig into them much)...the article is about the society itself, and lacks any references for supporting its supposed existence. I didn't notice what you had changed in the article from the version I deleted. Since I wasn't involved in the more recent deletion (I had been offline since Friday afternoon) it isn't just me having a problem with the article. Cheers.
