Speedy deletion of Ubhi

edit

A tag has been placed on Ubhi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —BradV 15:33, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Ubhi

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ubhi, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

no sources, virtually no content, no indication of significance. Not every clan or extended family is notable

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Proposed deletion of Guru Nanak Public Senior Secondary School

edit

The article Guru Nanak Public Senior Secondary School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There is no indication of the school's notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 08:47, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you believe that this school is indeed notable (a quick check on Google did not find indication of the school's notability. The hits I found were mentions that someone used to be a pupil there!), then you need to provide evidence of this.
For advice on showing notability, may I suggest that you look at Wikipedia's guidelines on notability for organisations and companies (as well as Wikipedia's general guidelines about notability).
You also need to provide references from reliable third-party sources for any information that may be added to the article. Please read Wikipedia's guidelines on citations and Wikipedia's guidelines for reliability.
Although I will not be on Wikipedia much during the next week (I've got decorating to do), I am hoping to check it every day, especially my messages - so feel free to leave a message on my talk page. I know nothing about the school, but I know a little bit about finding references and writing articles.
Hope this helps, regards, -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 08:47, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
