License tagging for Image:Incorpscot.pdf

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Incorpscot.pdf. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:07, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Image:Incorpscot.pdf, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

this is a pdf file and not an image, it is in the wrong place

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on [[Talk:Image:Incorpscot.pdf|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Image:Incorpscot.pdf is a pdf file not an image. It is in the wrong place, and so is a candidate for speedy deletion. If you disagree, please discuss this on the page. If you need guidance on how to use Wikipedia, post a message here and an Administrator will help you. Alithea 10:27, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Scottish Knights Templar. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.--Simsek 09:28, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. --Simsek 13:58, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have deleted your press release because Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service, nor is it a newswire service, nor is it an advertising outlet. Please read WP:TALK to see how to use talk pages, and remember to sign your posts. Thanks! - Jehochman Talk 15:43, 11 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

This maybe the same user as GSGOSMTH, which may be for a valid reason, but could be sock puppetry as the user has also posted with IP addresses IP User 86.147.137.71 , IP User 86.132.171.151 and IP User 86.134.5.174 Diff.--Sannhet 15:35, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

And the owner of the website Commandery St Clair promoted by the user in Scottish Knights Templar? --Dikkat 09:35, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

He is a BT user and so will have a variety of IP addresses in their range when he edits "anonymously".--Simsek 20:11, 6 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you are concerned about your use of computers being identified, why not use your account? This does not log the IP address of the computer you are using. By not being logged in, if I sign this or not my computer's address is logged. See the history of this page. Hope this helps. --217.44.85.119 (talk) 19:54, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Importing conflicts into Wikipedia

edit

I removed a bunch of content you posted because it violated WP:TALK. See also conflict of interest policy. You are not to import outside disputes into Wikipedia. Above, in 2007, I warned you about using Wikipedia as a hosting provider or press release distribution service. Please do not use Wikipedia improperly again or else your account will be prohibited from editing. Thank you. Jehochman Talk 21:37, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Ordo Supremus Militaris Templi Hierosolymitani. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Yopie (talk) 15:07, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dear Yopie, Please do not confuse advertising/soapbox material in an effort to communicate what is factual and correct. I have requested some significant edits on the OSMTH page and have given reasoned arguement to that effect. My initial complaint is that we went through all of this in 2007 and acheived a correct and factual version only to have it vandalised by those who do not know any better in the following years. We are just trying to correct these issues and beg your assistance. Paulmagoo (talk) 15:18, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Ordo Supremus Militaris Templi Hierosolymitani - Knights Templar International, Swiss Reg No: CH-660.1.972777-4, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —danhash (talk) 15:11, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Undoing others' comments at Talk:Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem

Hello Paulmagoo. Please undo your recent change to a talk page. You are changing the text of others' comments. Even if the people who wrote these comments are mistaken, it is not kosher for you to do this. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 16:01, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ed. I was asked by the authority body of OSMTH to remove any KTi inference. If you do a google on knights templar international you will see why we do not want to be associated with them Paulmagoo (talk) 17:52, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and reverted your change to the talk page. For the other matters, WP:COI is relevant. If you are editing here in the service of an external organization, you will soon be in trouble with our policies. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 18:05, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ed, I have only reverted the original comments made by myself years ago, I have left other ones alone. thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.154.167.26 (talk) 18:52, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
