Ray Butt

Do you have a source for Ray Butt directing the two-parter in series three? Bright and Ross do not mention anything about it. Neither do TV.com or IMDB. Redfarmer (talk) 22:52, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

That's really, really odd that no one mentions it anywhere (I do believe you, especially with the screenshot to back you up). Sometimes I get so frustrated with the lack of published sources published on LOTSW. Thanks for the help! Redfarmer (talk) 23:17, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Series 9 is going to be a big problem and I can see that there is eventually going to be a content dispute over it. What I can find from my research is that the division into two series was done by BBC Sales, the commercial distribution wing of the BBC, for the purposes of international distribution. When they were selling the series internationally, they seemed to want to show that their buyers were getting more for their money. For some reason, the distributors of the DVDs decided to go with this numbering and not the traditional numbering, thus angering and confusing their customers. I'm inclined to stick with the traditional way of number all of the 1986 series as series 9, especially in light of the fact the BBC Programmes site lists the series which ended in September as being series 28[1] and not series 29 as it would be if the BBC Sales numbering were commonly accepted.

P.S. According to the BBC Guide to Comedy for LOTSW, someone named Martin Shardlow once served as director of LOTSW and someone named Robin Nash once served as a producer. Like Butt, though, they are not mentioned in any of the literature. If you happen to figure out where they figure in the grand scheme of the show, would you let me know or add the info? Cheers! I removed "Big Day" from the films section mostly on the basis of Bright and Ross. While they specifically refer to "Getting Sam Home" and "Uncle of the Bride" as films, they refer to "Big Day" as a special.

The special Big Day at Dream Acres heralded the tenth series for October and November 1988, but Clarke felt that character-based loose ends needed tidying up.

I admit it's a bit strange and it's probably a fault with Bright and Ross, but, when pressed for a source at the featured article review, I couldn't come up with one. Redfarmer (talk) 00:01, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

LOTSW and FOTSW production numbers

Hey I need some help and I'm not quite sure where to look for it. Since you seem to have quite a few of the episodes, I was hoping you would know. As I'm reformatting the episode list for LOTSW, I'm trying to include production numbers for the episodes, mainly using TV.com as a source. However, they don't have production numbers listed for series 11 onwards, the pilot, or any FOTSW episodes.
