It's been a long time since we actually had beer IRL and I've basically been living on Wikipedia during 2017. The addiction is proper kicking in. I partly blame you for not discouraging this interest and that sounds like something I should drink to. CHEERS! Zakhx150 (talk) 18:34, 9 March 2017 (UTC) |

Wikimedian in Residence BoF at Wikimania 2017
Hello!
My name is David Alves (User:Horadrim~usurped), and I'm an Wikipedian in Residence at RIDC NeuroMat (User:Horadrim). I've reach your contact through the Wikimedian in residence page in Outreach. As you may know, Wikimania 2017 is coming! I am here because, as a fellow WiR, I believe this would be a great opportunity for us to share experiences, discuss difficulties and exchange solutions, creating a community among us capable of supporting in other projects that would benefit from residents. In that sense, I have submitted a proposal of a Birds of a Feather activity to Wikimania that you can check out here. I hope to count with your support in this project and would like to invite you to join us if you participate in Wikimania. In case of any doubts, please feel free to contact me, either in my talk pages or by e-mail at david.alves outlook.com.
Thank you very much! Horadrim~usurped (talk) 00:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

MOLA Wiki update
Hi Pat!
I've been going through and adding credits to the suggested MOLA page update in my Sandbox. I think the first two sections (the summary under MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology), and Background) table of info may be nearing the point where they could be reviewed/implemented if the Wiki community is happy with them! What do you think?
I'm also a bit stuck on how to upload our logo to the table, so any help with this would be gratefully received!
The new suggested Significant Contributions, Publications and Outputs sections (to replace Findings and External Links in the old version) still needs some work, I am working with experts in MOLA to find out what is best to include in these and will update as soon as I can.
Thanks again, Eiwilkes (talk) 12:45, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Eiwilkes:, that's all looking pretty great! A few notes and answers to your questions:
- I think you should avoid external links in the main text if possible (ie, Citizan and time truck - reference them instead if possible).
- Link to other Wikipedia articles a bit more if possible (eg, Museum of London, Cultural heritage management, PPG 16??). If someone has heard of you but doesn't understand developer led archaeology - how can they put you in context on Wikipedia?
- The above point also works in reverse - once your improvements are nearly finished start looking for other Wikipedia articles that should link to your article (or already do but need a bit more context).
- Regarding your logo upload question: You'll need to upload images to Wikimedia Commons and open licence them. Some very simple logos can be uploaded if they are not copyrightable (but can be trademarked).
- It would be nice to have a couple of open licensed images if possible - basic ones of the building are a great start.
- Great that you'll be adding more on the outputs. Just keep all the above notes in mind and you'll be golden!
I hope that helps - looking forward to seeing more PatHadley (talk) 10:49, 13 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @PatHadley:! I've taken the external links out, and have added lots of internal ones, have linked through to MOLA from the Rose Theatre page and have requested an edit on The Globe Theatre page. I have asked colleagues about uploading the MOLA logo and other images to Wikipedia Commons, so watch this space!
- Do you think new summary, info box and background sections are ready to implement? The next steps (re: images and the Significant Contributions and Publications sections) may take some time and it would be good to have at least these 2 sections up to date in the meantime! Eiwilkes (talk) 14:13, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Eiwilkes: Cracking stuff! Go for it with the first few sections. Just add a message to the article talk page explaining (you can reply to my message) Is that image that's appeared on the article since new too? PatHadley (talk) 21:24, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

Event coordinator granted
After reviewing your request for the "eventcoordinator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:
- The event coordinator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
- The event coordinator right allows you to temporarily add the "confirmed" permission to newly created accounts. You should not grant this for more than 10 days.
- The event coordinator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the event coordinator right will result in its removal by an administrator.
- Please note, if you were previously a member of the "account creator" group, your flag may have been converted to this new group.
If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the event coordinator right. Happy editing! stwalkerster (talk) 10:48, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the speedy fix! Much appreciated PatHadley (talk) 15:32, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- Please note, you appear to have repeatedly misconfigured +confiremed access for attendees by not setting an expiration date. I have gone back and cleaned these up. Should you have a future event that you will be coordinating, you can re-request access at WP:PERM. — xaosflux Talk 14:16, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- Whoops! Didn't notice the expiration was needed in the rush of the event. Cheers PatHadley (talk) 14:23, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
